Columbia Men's Transverse Hike Waterproof

I'm 6'3" tall and 185 lbs. I also have size 15-Wide feet which has always made shopping for shoes really difficult. So you can imagine my delight in finding these Columbia boots in exactly my size! Columbia is a brand name I trust with a good track record over many years. The good news? They're comfortable, flexible, and fit me perfectly! The quality of these boots is also first rate - the stitching and assembly of the boot is excellent. The insole provided is comfortable, providing a nice cushion with each footfall. The quality of the soles and tread are tough and long-lasting! I do a lot of hiking and hill-climbing in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California. I cover about 15 to 20 miles each time I go out and encounter a multitude of varied terrains ranging from volcanic basalt (smooth and often slippery), volcanic lahar (composite and aggregate mud flow which is very abrasive and rough), meadows, wetlands, gravely surfaces, and dry dusty trails. These are rough conditions with many changes in elevation, and these boots hold firmly on all of these surfaces. The ankle-high design with the scoop back gives your Achilles tendon room to move freely providing necessary support without constriction. I'm confident when hiking, especially on steep inclines with a rugged surfaces, that I can rely on them to keep me safe from slipping or falling. I'm keeping a log of how many miles I walk in these boots and will be interested to see what their longevity is. So far I've covered over 60 miles in these boots and the tread on the soles hardly show any wear at all. These boots are also stylish and look great when I wear them. I receive compliments on them quite frequently. A great consideration is also the value for the money. For a mid-priced boot, they outperform boots I've paid nearly twice as much for. I will definitely buy these boots again when the time comes.

I bought the Columbia Men’s Transverse Hike Waterproof boots and they exceeded my expectations. They are very comfortable from the first wear, with good cushioning and ankle support. The waterproofing works great, keeping my feet dry in rain and wet conditions. The outsole offers excellent traction, even on slippery surfaces. They feel well made and durable, and the fit is true to size with no break-in needed. Overall, these are reliable, comfortable boots for hiking, walking, or everyday use in wet weather. This is a great hiking/walking/anything shoe for Oregon. I have a wide foot with a tall arch and the wide option in my size fits perfectly. They are lightweight, waterproof, warm, no slip and very comfortable.

Sorry! I forgot to take the photos and videos before my husband wore them. According to him, these boots are very comfortable and feel well-made. They provide excellent support and grip, making them perfect for hiking and long walks. He really appreciates the waterproof feature. They fit true to size and didn’t require much breaking in. Great quality from Columbia, as expected.

I bought these for my husband for work. They are true to size and lightweight. The quality is good. He does landscaping AKA hard-scraping work. When they got wet they dried fairly quickly. He said they’re comfy and were good for work, BUT after only 4 months they started to smell really bad. Like a dead animal died inside. OBVIOUSLY I know if you sweat while working, your shoes will eventually probably smell. BUT his other work boots he’s had for a year don’t smell. So that’s why I’m giving this a 4 star rating.

Look great! They feel even better! Look like they cost way more then they actually do. And they feel like a good pair of used tennis shoes! Would buy again.

Bought these to replace a pair of Lands' End snow hiking boots that I only wore in the winter. Had them for over 20 years, but finally started falling apart after one of the worst snow storms in eight years in NYC. Wore Colombia's for the first time on a Sunday. Had them on from 9:45 AM to 1:15 AM Monday morning. These are the first pair of boots that I have owned that have not cause any pain after wearing for hours on end. Amazing boot, hope these last a long time. I'll keep an eye on the price trends and order another pair when the price drops again.
