I discovered this serum through Dr. Sam Ellis’ YouTube channel, and I’m so glad I did. She recommended it as a first “sandwich” layer under tretinoin to reduce irritation — and it’s been a game changer for my routine. The texture is lightweight, gel-like, and feels instantly cool and nourishing on my dry, sensitive skin. Since incorporating it, my tretinoin irritation has dramatically decreased, and my skin stays calm and hydrated. It layers beautifully under other products and absorbs quickly without any stickiness. If you’re looking for an intensive hydration boost — especially if you’re using retinoids — this serum is a must-have. My skin looks plumper, feels more resilient, and I’m happy to have found such an effective, affordable product.

I’ve really been enjoying the Prequel Skin Multi‑Quench Plumping Hydration Serum. It gives my skin a soft, hydrated feel without any heaviness, and it absorbs quickly so it never interferes with the rest of my routine. One of the best parts is how smoothly my makeup applies afterward—everything blends better and looks more even. Overall, it’s a lightweight, effective serum that adds the perfect boost of hydration.

I bought this and the Prequel SPF, my first time using this product line. Definitely impressed and in my opinion, a great price for what seems like a quality product. The serum has a lightweight texture,, absorbs quickly, and my skin looks and feels well hydrated right away. More so than when I use a regular hyaluronic acid. There is no pilling or heavy feel so easy to use with other products. I can't say whether it improves skin texture over time or what the benefits are with continued use. I've been using it consistently with the SPF for the last two weeks, so it only been a short while. But when I put it on, my skin noticeably looks more springy and feels better throughout the day. I have mature, dry skin so I do use a moisturizer over this before sun protection. I imagine that if you have oily or normal skin you might be able to use this in place of moisturizer during the day.

I purchased this Prequel Skin Multi‑Quench Plumping Hydration Serum already twice and it is absolutely perfect for my combination skin as my first skin care routine both AM and PM. It is not scented, which helps with my skin sensitivity, and it is effective in leaving my face hydrated and not greasy. I have been using this serum both in summer and winter underneath moisturizer, sunscreen or foundation. Makeup applies very well on top of this serum. Also, I started using retinoids recently in PM and I noticed that this serum underneath the retinoid layer helped my skin adapt to the retinoid without becoming irritated (this approach is recommended by Dr. Sam Ellis who is the creator of Prequel, I highly recommend her YouTube channel too).
