Works great. Very accurate.

This is an accurate device that has been very helpful in cabinet install. Measuring inside cabinets for shelving is not very accurate to do with a tape measure with face frame cabinets because you have to bend the tape (or add the length of the tape measure frame). Putting the back side of this laser measure to an inside cabinet wall makes this a very easy and accurate way to measure. One of the negative reviews from a seemingly confused user that complains about this measure defaulting from the back side. My decades long experience with all the construction trades makes the back side default much more logical - if you have to line the front end of the measure up with an edge it wouldn't be as accurate from the starting end and if you were measuring anything other than something out in the open a front side default would be stupid to use, I can't imagine what the confused user measures so frequently from the front side. Measuring any interior dims requires the back end default which also provides a nice square back end to work from. It is also nice that it shows the incline angle for running drain lines at proper drainage pitch while measuring the length and required locations of the pipe ends. I am happy with the purchase, time will tell if it holds up but so far I am very impressed and I don't usually give 5 star reviews of most tools.

Tested it on a golf course on a bright, cloudless, sunny day. It was not reading well beyond about 200 feet, and sometimes not at all. However, when it was CLOUDY, mid-day, it worked perfectly, measuring up to 400 feet with ease. It works best if you can stabilize it (tripod or resting it on something) as hand-holding it makes it very difficult to use beyond 150 feet. Indoors, never had an issue. I am not using a laser reflective target. Checked its measurements up to 200 feet with a tape measure and it appeared very accurate (certainly at least within a quarter of an inch that I could tell). Internal storage and saving of measurements with camera image is awesome. Camera is pretty terrible at night or in dark areas though, but looks great in well-lit areas. Helpful if you do multiple measurements around a room and forget a spot or two where you last measured. Battery life is great, even when using the camera feature. I've been on six different job sites making measurements for about an hour each time and it was only reading about half of its charge used by the end of the week. Have not tried linking it up with a phone or computer so no opinion on those features.

Very nice unit, worth the extra $$ to upgrade to this level. Bought it when we had a job that required a lot of measurement on the under side of a bridge that was 30' above our heads, and this unit did the job remarkably well. Takes a little study to figure out how to use the height and offset measurements, but once you get it down it's a real time saver. Double checked some of the measurements and they were usually dead on. The sight cross-hairs on the video screen with the zoom function was really a great thing to have. Find myself using it a lot now, instead of dragging a 300' tape across a hillside.

Bought this laser measure to use for measuring the distances of a foundation for a new aircraft hangar. The wind here in Amarillo blows all the bloody time such that it’s impossible to reliability use any tape measure with string lines to find distances off batter boards. For the intended purpose the laser measure worked near perfectly and I was able to accuracy find the distances across 60 foot and 100 foot walls and with the 116 foot diagonal. It’s worthily to mention that the accuracy of this laser measure is light years over a tape measure for long distances as long distance tapes tend to be fiberglass or similar which stretches when being pulled taught. At low light periods you can see the red laser dot so you’re able to see what you’re pointing at. The red dot is visible really well during dusk and dawn periods but also works well indoors. Outdoors in sunlight, you can see the dot if you look very closely, but it’s near impossible to see after noon on a bright summer day. The device does have a camera that you can use to see what you’re measuring and I found this well worth the extra cost as it allows the device to work if full bright light. One bonus point is that the device can measure from the front, or back, or the middle where it attaches to a tripod. What this device lacks or is subpar with has to do with its age. I can’t find the exact date that Bosch introduced the GLM400, but it looks like 2017 and the images that I did find look exactly like the one I bought in mid 2023. The device still usages micro USB for charging, which all electronic devices I use are either lighting or USB-C, so if I lose this power cable (which can’t be stowed in the caring case) I’m screwed. While I like the camera, it’s very pixelated and extremely hard if not impossible to find small locations to measure at and beyond 60 feet. For longer distances the camera needs a higher resolution along with a better resolution screen or be able to Bluetooth the high res video to you phone. The one annoying feature is that every time the device powers-on it boots to a default setting which is measuring from the back end of the device. Since I measure from the front end this gets a bit annoying as the user interface is a tad bit cumbersome to change this Finally, the Bosch tool app that you can use with this device is literally worthless and I haven’t be able to use it to accomplish anything productive. In the end would I purchase again….absolutely!

I absolutely love this laser measuring device! I purchased this for work, measuring the exterior of building walls, and building heights. The camera view finder is amazing! I chose this specific model because I wanted to internal, rechargeable battery instead of the AA batteries. I am not disappointed! The battery life is great even when using the camera view finder. It's got all the functions you can think of, and it's fully customizable to meet your needs/preferences. The screen can be a bit difficult to see while out in the bright sun, but it's definately not a deal breaker. I purchased a Bosch tripod to go with it for the times I need my measuring to be more precise (compared to just free standing). A coworker has a another device from a different make, and it's well over double the price, and while working together we noticed that the Bosch has a few extra functions, as well as some easier to use functions. This device has already paid for itself in time saving from having to measure building using other traditional methods of measuring wheels or tapes. I definately recommend this Bosch laser measuring device to anyone who does any sort of interior/exterior measuring. If I could give this 10 stars I would!

I use this 3 to 4 times a week. I've had it for 6 months and only had to charge it twice. Once initially and then once again so far. Battery life seems great. Easy to use. I like the camera and save function.

Easy to use if you're used to using laser measures. Red laser is hard to see under extreme sunlight and longer distances. This tool is an integral part of my tool kit for estimating!
