Review: Fantastic study aid - Rather than a wide margin bible, you get a page of scripture and a blank page. Fantastic for notes and ideas. The translation is not my favourite but that’s not the point. I can put my observations, objections and study notes on the blank page. This will serve you for decades. After all, 50% of the book you will write yourself. Easy to carry, assuming you only want the part that you are studying is with you, a great tool. Expensive? Yes, but this is a life long product, and having your notes in one place is so convenient. Review: Very Useful For Daily Study - Excellent little set of Scripture journals. I bought the set over 6 months ago and have used a few of them. The benefits are as follows: 1. The print of the scripture text (ESV) is large and clear, and the paper is creamy. This makes using the journals in daily reading a pleasure. 2. There is sufficient space around the text, and on the blank alternate pages to jot notes, thoughts, references. 3. The blank page for notes is always the right hand page which favours right handed people (like me). You never cover the Biblical text with your arm while jotting notes. 4. You can write freely without too much concern for ruining each journal — each one can be individually replaced at a small cost. I always felt wary writing in an interleaved Bible as I was afraid of ruining it! I like the ESV translation — it is accurate and readable. These journals make daily study of scripture a little easier — never a bad thing! As to binding quality: these are simply A5 size notebooks, not dissimilar to Moleskine Cahier, however they are glued at the seam rather than stitched. I have had no problem with this as yet, and can foresee no problem. Highly recommend.

Really good
I received my journal set today and there is no errant glue, no pages or covers bent. I can’t wait to start using these journals to go deeper in Gods word.

a good translation let down by poor quality.
This arrived today and is so disappointing. The quality is absolutely appalling. Apart from the housing box being filthy, the actual books are poorly bound. The glue is still tacky to the touch and shouldn't even be on the edges of the pages. The spines on some are folded at the edges and the top part where the spine is is crooked and untidy. This is definitely not worth £70+. I shall be looking for a replacement.

Good quality item
Good quality item, brought as a Christmas present now brought another set for my own use excellent journaling bible with plenty of room for notes as each page of text has a blank page for notes and as the bible is presented as separate books is much easier to use and less intimidating to read

When I saw this I was really excited. I wish I'd had this when I was in Bible School & Seminary because it would have been great to be able to take notes along side the biblical text. I ordered a single book (Romans) to check it out and was impressed enough to just buy a whole set. I will be using these journals for my own study as well as for sermon prep.

I bought this for my husband and he loves that the books are broken up and it makes it easier to take one with him and read it more frequently, he also loves all of the room to take notes

Sleek finish and great space for note taking. Great as a study tool to refer to over the years.

Crossway has done it again! This is among Crossway's best ideas to help Christians, from laymen to scholars, to better understand and apply God's words to our daily lives. What better thing to do than to read Scripture and jot down your thoughts right then and there. Allowing for review later as one grows in the Spirit! I use everything ESV. In my opinion its the best translation on the market right now. Although I am a seminary student and most of my professors instruct students to use the NASB because of its gender-neutral language, I still use the ESV to study, teach and preach. I purchased both the OT and NT journals because I'm often studying the bible in two modes, academically and spiritually, so I'm constantly going back and forth between the testaments. My only knock is how short the journal is for the Book of Romans. As a Romans scholar, I'm a bit biased, but this journal should have far more pages. If it were not for Paul and Romans we wouldn't know how to read the Gospels, since most of the terms in teh Gospels were derivative of Paul's original use. In any case, I'm sure I'll have to purchase an annex to ensure I capture my thoughts thoroughly as I work my way through Romans and back again. This is a must-have for any Christian looking to glean deeper thoughts from Scripture as the Holy Spirit teaches us as we read. God's word is the bread of life and this journal set makes for easy breaking and eating of His bread. In addition, I also bought the ESV Reader Bible Set, while chapters and numbers make for easier location of subjects and verses, there is nothing like reading a love letter without all the breaks and commentary. Just sitting in a comfy spot absorbing the love and intimacy of a love letter from heaven.

I really like this product, it can do a lot more than Journaling, I think I have an individual book for each book of the Bible will probably improve your patience to get through a whole book if you struggle with reading for long periods of time or are progress based people. Esv is a great translation even though I'm catholic. Be aware though that constant bending of the cardstock will beat it up pretty bad.
