Great kit
Pretty good kit, my son constructed the whole robot somehow easily. It worked great.

caution is recommended as quality issues may exist... but seller will work with you!
Okay, I have waited three weeks to do this review to give the seller the benefit of the doubt. the product looked good at first glance but after assembling I noticed one of the motors was "skipping" rotations. I pulled it apart and found a broken gear in the gear box. I reported it to the seller and they promised to send a replacement... as of this writing I have received nothing from them. over all the product is average. when I purchased I thought the value was good but it turned out I had to order more parts to make it work so, not so great. I give this product a 3 out of 5 overall. UPDATE... Today I received the replacement motor. change rating to 4 out of 5 stars... Seller took care of me and I am happy.

super nifty gift gizmo
My nephew got his gear helmet on with this nifty gizmo. He loved and I was so happy because he's a toughy to buy for - not anymore. This is jsut the beginning of no hassle gift giving. All I have to do is look up this item and see what amazon suggests and Wah-lah more cool things for him put together and for me to buy :-)

Disapointed
The 2 gearmotors are very different in friction, one is smooth and rotates normally, the other is noisy and almost a grinding noise in it. I never could make the car go straight. On the same one the wheel is just flying off. Unfortunately I cannot return them since I soldered decoupling capacitors on them. The red wire on the battery holder was interrupted, so I had to replace it. Really bad quality control. I would not buy it again.

Fun little toy.
Excellent. I've had this little thing running around, powered by a Raspberry Pi Pico for a while now.

Good starter kit for the money - brittle - wheels keep falling off
Overall good value for money - would have been perfect if wheels had been screw-on instead of snap-on. - spacious - was able to fit arduino, batteries and 2 h-bridges with room to spare - multi-level - so more space available on bottom deck if needed - hard to remove baseplate covering - used acetone as suggested by another reviewer - wheels do not fit tightly with the motor shaft, wobble and fall off easily - acrylic tags that hold the motors are brittle - broke 4 of them while trying to get the wheels to grip more firmly with the motor shaft Tried securing the wheels with loctite - still fall off e - if the wheels had

Not as bad as people make it seem
It’s cheap. The stickers that protect the plastic is hard to get off. The motors are slower than I had hoped. And none of that matters because I bought it to prototype some ideas, and it’s allowed me to do that and do it within a minuscule budget. In that sense, it’s perfect

The parts were packed in a plastic bag, the base was broken.

I am having fun using it!!

My attempt was to use the parts (motors, wheels) on my own chassis. From a very limited experience that I had with the original chassis (included with the packages), I was not able to secure to the motors to chassis very tightly. Leaving the chassis out, I still believe that the whole thing worth buying. Here is a list cons and pros: Pros: 1. The motors and the wheels are compatible. You do not need to look for a coupler as they fit right into each other. 2. The freewheel (caster), seems to be amazing that can also be used later in other projects. 3. The motors are okay. You can install an encoder on them if you want to. 4. lots nuts, bolts and spacers that can come and handy in later project. Cons: 1. The wheels are not precisely rotating around their axes. Probably, this is due to the poor build of the connection of the motor's shaft and the wheel. I will try to glue the wheels to the shafts to see if it helps. 2. Motors are not identical. One of them was stronger than the other. This is problematic if you are planning to give precise velocity inputs and expect to see a predictable motion. 3. Overall, motors have a poor built. 3. The battery pack holder screws pops the battery out! Make sure that you attach the battery holder above the chassis to counter the gravity, else the batteries will be knocked out.

Seems decent enough for what it is and the price point. Motors don't feel very securely attached to the chassis though, it's all a bit wobbly even with bolts tightened.
