Works well, but only on certain door types.

Such potential when traveling and such a need for a good product like this, but alas.... Truth is, when you turn the key in the barrel just right and then pull, the whole barrel pulls out and pieces fall to the floor making it useless...which happened while I was traveling. It made a great paperweight for the rest of the trip.

Do not purchase. I purchased this as an addiitonal lock to use in my hotel room while traveling to Europe. It does not work well to secure a door. The travel lock prevents the actual door lock from catching in the door jam - which means that if you use the travel lock you do not have two levels of protection. Instead, you are relying exclusively on the travel lock to keep your door shut - which is a problem because it does not fit snuggly against the door and allows and door to be pushed slightly open when in place. Also, it does not work at all to lock a drawer - despite its claims to do so. I tried it on every piece of furniture in my house and I could not get it to work with any of them. The minimal instructions that accompany it provide no tips as to how it could possibly work to lock a drawer. Thankfully, with Amazon I can return it and get a full refund since it simply does not work. If you want an additional door lock to use while traveling, look at Add-a-Lock (see picture), which is also sold on Amazon. I purchased Add-a-Lock at the same time I purchased the First Watch Travel Lock Deadbolt and I tested it on several doors in my house. The Add-A-Lock was quite sturdy and worked on several different door lock configurations. I have not yet tried it on a hotel room door but from the way it is designed, I anticipate that it should work well. I used a similar device many years ago in college and it worked very well back then.

Many years ago I had one of these locks and I misplaced it when I moved. At that time I thought it worked well, and used it to secure a closet which uses the standard pull open and close shut type of door. I recently found that I needed a closet lock and I recalled having owned this type of lock in the past. I went to many big box and hardware stores to buy a replacement, but I couldn't find a sales person who had any knowledge of what I wanted, or how I could purchase one. I later found the exact lock that I previously had used by typing the word " locks, as a final try to find one", on Amazon search all departments, and saw an image of the lock that I had previously owned. I quickly ordered two of them. I recommend this lock for protecting your privacy.You need to rely on your own judgment when protecting valuables, but this lock is useful to keep others from getting into your stuff.

Great product that does what its supposed to do. I'm selling my house and needed to secure a drawer in my bedroom end table during open houses and showings. This lock does the trick. Easy on and off. There's no way this is coming off easily and while someone could hammer it off or break the drawer, this is meant to keep the honest folks from temptation. (There's no way to hide the damage of a pried open drawer.) I'd recommend this to others.

The one I got did not come with the faceplate. It's like it was repackaged by a dissatisfied buyer. It works. It is difficult to remove, as the teeth catch the latch sometimes. Took me several minutes to remove once.

This item works very good.. Extra security for any door is a good thing.. Highly recommend for anyone wanting an added lock without the fuss of drilling or installing another door lock. Take it on the go for hotel rooms or just about anywhere.. Easy to use key, locks unit tightly and securely without a hitch .. This is a must have item in my opinion .. I use it every night and sleep very securely.. I love it..

Works as advertised. I live in an apartment and maintenance personnel tend to come in without knocking. With this lock they have to beat on the door so that I get up to let them in (I work at night and sleep in the day.) Before I bought this lock I'd sometime wake up to find a stranger walking around my apartment. The apartment management gives out door keys to contractors as well, so there's no way of knowing who is in your apartment. The lock stops that. I highly recommend it.

Product doesn't work, lock can't be turn. Contact manufacturer and have not heard from
