What happened to the szechuan peppers?

We are sorry to disappoint you, but we are longer manufacturing our Szechuan Style Pepper Blend, 2.75 oz. This product has been discontinued since 2006. We understand how frustrating it is when favorite products are discontinued. As a business, we continue to introduce new products to meet the demand for new flavors and expanding tastes and sometimes must make tough decisions to discontinue products that aren't selling as well as others. While we do not currently have another product or recipe that we can suggest be used in place of this product, nor do we have any remaining product on hand, we have shared your feedback regarding this decision with our Marketing Team. ~JM

Is this completely peanut free? Is this manufactured on shared equipment with peanuts or tree nuts?

McCormick does not use ingredients containing peanuts in the manufacturing of our McCormick branded extracts, spices, herbs and seasoning mixes and the only tree nut present in these manufacturing facilities is coconut, a tree nut as defined by FDA regulations. It is important to read the ingredient statement on your package at the time of purchase to ensure accurate, up to date information. McCormick takes the safety and quality of our products very seriously and you can be certain that we exercise the utmost care in the production and packaging of our products. Our employees are trained in the importance of correct labeling and the necessity of performing thorough equipment clean-up and change over procedures to minimize cross-contact of ingredients. ~ Erica

While we do not have a recipe, McCormick Gourmet Chinese Five Spice Blend can be used in coffee. ~ Erica

Our McCormick Gourmet Chinese Five Spice Blend, 1.75 oz. does not contain sodium. If sodium is ever added to our products, it will be listed as "salt" in the ingredient statement. ~JM
