More Powerful than Hitachi Wand.....but different
Note: This review is for a recently purchased Thunder Stick that appears made after they solved a series of issues related to the first design/manufacturing run. I cannot be completely sure, but I ran across some information through other sites that refers (unofficially) to the "Thunder Stick 2". Everyone knows the original Hitachi Magic Wand has been replaced with a very similar, but slightly weaker version licensed to another manufacturer (the HV-270 versus the HV-260). Note that some sellers are marketing the new version as the "original" and it is not. Having a need to replace our aging original Hitachi, led me to conduct serious research. Most (not all) roads led to the Thunder Stick. The Thunder Stick is nearly the same form factor as the Hitachi Wand. Key differences in form factor are 1) Thunder Stick is lighter and shaped slightly different, and 2) Thunder Stick head is made of a slightly softer material but contains more "bands" or ridges than the single center band on the Hitachi. In direct side by side comparison, the Thunder Stick is noticeably more powerful than the Hitachi. Also, the variable speed wheel selection, as opposed to the Hitachi rocker switch providing only two speeds (low and high), allows for any variation of vibration. The Thunder Stick is manufactured with quality you can feel, just like the Hitachi, but at a lighter weight. The cord length on both units (critical) are the same length. The Thunder Stick feels good ergonomically and the weight seems distributed very well. The Thunder Stick is also quieter than the Hitachi compared side by side. However, our Hitachi is not new so comparing noise (and strength) side by side may be a little unfair; though, without a doubt, I believe the Thunder Stick is noticeably more powerful than a Hitachi wand out of the box. My only concern (somewhat unfounded at this point) is the question of durability and only time will tell. The Hitachi Wands had a life expectancy (with us) of about 18-24 months before the motor would start to weaken. We have only had the Thunder Stick two weeks and will need more time before I could reliably opine on durability. In the end my recommendation would be to buy the Thunder Stick. I doubt any former Hitachi Wand user would be disappointed.

Powerful, sturdy, with variable speeds.
I'm reviewing this after almost 3 years of fairly heavy use-- it still works like a champ. It's powerful, not super loud, and I like that it has variable speeds. (The Magic Wand brand is a little rumblier, but it only has two speeds-- high and low.) I've actually worked at a toy shop for the past 6 months, and this wand remains my favorite, plus it's reasonably priced. And I've even used it to massage my neck and shoulders!

MADE FOR BEGINNERS OR WOMEN WHO ARE SENSITIVE
DESIGNED FOR BEGINNERS OR WOMEN WHO ARE VERY SENSITIVE!! IF YOU ARE LONG-STANDING, HIGHLY STIMULATE AND CAN GO FOR A LONG TIME THIS WAND IS NOT THE ONE!! YES IT HAS POWER, YES IT VIBRATES; BUT IT DOES NOT HIT THE CLITORAL SPOT AND WHEN IT DOES THERE IS NOT ENOUGH POWER TO EVEN TAKE YOU WHERE YOU NEED TO GO!! AS STATED, EXCELLENT DEVICE FOR A BEGINNER BUT FOR THOSE WHO ARE HIGHLY IN TOUCH WITH YOUR BODY THIS IS DEFINATELY NOT THE ITEM TO PURCHASE!! I HATED IT, WANTED TO RETURN IT BUT IT IS NOT A RETURNABLE ITEM. SO I JUST LOST MY MONEY BECAUSE THIS WAND IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!

Powerful but gentle
I broke my fifth metatarsal and percussion massagers were too brutal. My muscles were stiff and very weak. I initially wanted to get the Hitachi Magic Wand, but when I realized it was discontinued by Hitachi and the new version of the Magic Wand wasn't as powerful as what I was used to, I became intent on finding a quality substitute. This was a great replacement! I used it with muscle rubs and lotions, and cleaned it immediately (with a wet washcloth) after use and it still looks brand new. I didn't put it directly on my broken bone, but instead, put it on the sore muscles in my leg, ankle, and on my foot on the side opposite to my broken bone. It was gentle, unlike my percussion massager. It is very silent, which I wasn't searching for, but since I'm aware of the other uses of this massager, I think that would be a plus. It's fairly small and easy to store (1ft 2in long, just over 2in at its widest point). I took one star off because it is not as powerful as the original Hitachi on the sides of its bulb, but it is still very powerful on the round tip. Another reason why I took off one star was because the cord was a bit short (3ft long). Pros: - fairly silent - strong - easy controls - smallish size (1'2" long, 2.25" at its widest) - seems to be able to withstand using with lotions and oils if cleaned immediately(with wet washcloth) - discreet black design - easy to handle/not too heavy - flexible head Cons: - not as powerful on the sides of the bulb as on the tip of the bulb - short cord (3ft long)

Cord Length is to short!!
Just like all of them we have used….. cord length is way too short!! You almost need an outlet on the bed for this to be maximized. Still better than the rechargeable ones but it’s annoying to have to use a small extension cord

They've Mastered The Hitachi With This One!
While the Hitachi (actual original version) will always hold the seat as the 1st and longest running vibrator of it's kind, this is not to be missed. The Thunder Stick by themaster-series.com has instead of adding a dimmer controller as I have with the other brand; has it's own dimmer (slow to high adjustable) built right in and controlled by your thumb..which makes it more versatile right out of the box. To some, the Hitachi in it's two mode state is either too low or to high which is why the dimming controller was introduced by one of these people who loved it but had to have more control over it. The Thunder Stick is nearly, if just as powerful as the Hitachi, but now with this adjustable control knob, its feel-good handle, and super flexible neck; make this a must-have in your bedroom or play area! Beware however based on some other posts here, that you may want to be gentle with it's neck when holding it onto your erotic zones. Forcibly bending the neck in the throws of pleasure may cause the wire inside the neck to be stressed under pressure and damage your Thunder Stick. Holding it very sternly against you does no more actually than holding it lightly yet firmly to your various pleasure zones. IMHO the flexible head allows you to give it a bit more than a light pressure but like the Hitachi, the vibration will weaken as you involve more force causing a resistance in its over-all effectiveness. Just as the more surface area you involve with Estim products the lesser the effect. The same goes with powerful vibrators like this or any personal vibrator for that matter except maybe the Sybian which I've not experimented with..yet. It has vents also built into the handle to prevent heat build-up while engaging it in long sessions. The only thing that I could possibly recommend is perhaps another two to three feet of cord to help when stretching it across the bed from the outlet or you should have a good quality but light extension cord with it if you take it on your travels. Their video compares it side by side in water with the Hitachi to show you that it is a worthy competitor and it is! I've never found another vibrator that compared; then was born the Thunder Stick!!!

I mean.... It's a thunder stick
It's a thunder stick for god's sake folks! What do you think is gonna be a review? Weak?.... No! Many speeds?.... Yep! One that's right for her/him?.... Yep!! It does so much! Relieves back pain, massages sore muscles, yep!! Does it do the other things that most people think?? YEP!!!! As it should it has a roll button thing that increases speed, from little to high I spose, all speeds seem to work great! Somewhere just a little past middle seems to be the Wifey's particular speed she likes, for her.... shoulder massages. It's pretty quiet too, seems loud when your next to it, but 6 feet away you can barely hear, in case your kids ask what you were doing. And as always, momma's shoulder hurt! Just saying....

Wow!
This thing is amazing! Not only is it great in bed, it actually helps my sciatica and fibromyalgia pains.. Didn't expect that bonus. The dial hits the blankets a little and turns it down kinda easy but I have no complaints really. Goes above and beyond what I expected! Wayyy better than the Hitachi magic wand, I owned one for a couple years then it exploded while my partner and I were using it. Burned my neck even! Plus the power on the Thunderstick is even more impressive. Nicely built and fancy looking too! 10/10 would recommend.

One and only
Large, heavy and handy to adjust speed - it's all perfect if you have grown to know what you want. Never runs out of power because it's not chargable. Isn't it frustrating when such chargable device starts to make hick-ups at the most valuable moment? This will not fail you. You can scale from very gentle to very intensive with just a move of your finger. Mechanical speed control is "must have".

Works great
Quiet and powerful!

Good wand vibrator
Slightly more power that the hitachi wand but has a slight orbital motion some persons may or not like. Not as poweful as a percustion vibrator but is good for what it is intended for.

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT
A long while ago I bought this product and after a few uses it completely broke. I thought that maybe it was just a one in a million bad luck situation. So recently, I decided to purchase the same thing. Well this time I plugged it in and right away it didn't even work. These are the most defective products that I have come across. I shop almost weekly on Amazon and have only returned something once. BEWARE. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. I gave it a 1 star because I couldn't give it anything less.
