I really like these cereals -- they taste great, the chocolate in particular has a wonderful dark-chocolate, cocoa-forward flavor that's not too sweet, it's fantastic. My kids love the Frosted and the Fruity flavors best -- it's amazing to be able to feed them something high-protein and low-sugar and EASY to serve that they actually LIKE for breakfast! (My daughter came home and told me happily that after eating this she wasn't starving by lunch time for the first time ever!) But -- and it's a big "but" -- forty bucks for four smaller-than-average boxes is just NOT affordable for us. The label says five servings per box but realistically it's closer to 3/4. I have three kids. We received these on Monday; by Friday, they were gone. Much as we loved these they'll have to be a very occasional treat for us because we can't work $40 a week just for cereal into our budget.

I absolutely love sugary breakfast cereals but they leave me feeling gross and like I just ate a bunch of empty sugar calories. I am recently trying to eat healthier and live a healthier lifestyle, while previously eating a lot of sugar and processed foods (hello oreos). The Magic Spoon Cereal is so fun to eat, it gives me a similar "happy" feeling when I eat it and the taste is 4/5 stars. It has a pretty good texture to me, similar to cheerios in my opinion. The variety pack is helpful as to not get tired of one flavor. It's not perfectly addictive like normal sugary cereals but I guess that's the point. It makes me happy when I pull out the box and can have a pretty healthy snack that tastes like a treat. The only downsides is that it is a bit high in fat content for those of us with high cholesterol and that it is so expensive. But for the taste, enjoyability, and protein and nutritional value, I think it's worth it. Will keep buying.

Flavors ranked in my opinion: #1) Fruity. Genuinely reminds me of slightly less sweet version of fruity pebbles. Just as good for casual snacking as it is as a part of breakfast. #2) Frosted. Moderately sweet, wouldn't make a direct comparison to frosted flakes (or many other frosted cereals), but those are woefully unhealthy due to the amount of sugar, which is presumably what buyers of this cereal are attempting to avoid. #3) Peanut butter. The flavor reminds me more of a "peanut butter-type by- product" ( think along the lines of "cheese" vs "cheese flavored" by product). Doesn't really taste genuinely like peanut butter, but it may satisfy the need for a few people who aren't really after genuine flavor. #4) Chocolate. Good effort, but the formula definitely needs some tweaking, doesn't taste like anything remotely approaching chocolate/cocoa. Easily the least sweet tasting of the bunch due to the somewhat bitter nature of cocoa powder, feels like it easily overpowers the sweetener, up to individual preference really. PRICE WILL BE AN ABSOLUTE DEAL BREAKER. Given the relatively small box size, asking essentially just shy of $11 per box is a bit on the ridiculous side of the pricing scale. I understand that there is typically a premium to be paid for eating healthier in some cases due to ingredient cost, manufacturing cost, logistics, etc... but your business model will have to find a means of not pushing the bulk of the expenses onto the customer base. Most people will not be willing to buy this cereal at this price. All in all, decent tasting, healthier than most of what you'll find at any grocery store (more so in terms of carb and calorie reduction, not necessarily nutrient density), but the price will make repeated purchases a burden compared to practically any other cereal.

My doctor tells me I'm prediabetic and to reduce my carbs and sugar. After some research I came upon this product. I ordered a 4 pack sampler which at the time cost $47.00 for a one time purchase. The price varies a little. I opened my first box: Peanut Butter. The box contains only 7 ozs of cereal! About enough for 2 or 3 adult portions. It tastes fine, but you feel like you're eating "air", there is little substance. It is NOT at all filling for a morning meal (even with fresh blueberries and strawberries added). A man still feels hungry after eating this. Next time I will try lots of nuts to see if that helps. Bottom line: 1. each box cost about $12.00. Far too expensive IMO. 2. each box has very little cereal - 7oz. which, at best, lasts about 6 days with judicious portioning (1 measured cup per portion) about 6 portions . That's about $2.00 a bowel. 3. cereal is not filling - feels like you're crunching "air". At a lower price or double the amount it might be worth it. I'm not likely to reorder at these prices.
