We bought these Dr. Brown’s Y-Cut Narrow Nipples because our daughter has swallowing issues, and our speech therapist specifically recommended them. We’ve tried Newborn and Levels 1–4, but the Y-Cut narrow nipple works best for her. We use them daily and wash them in the top rack of the dishwasher every day. After several months, none have broken or worn out—quality has been very consistent. We trust Dr. Brown’s products, and if your baby has similar swallowing issues, these Y-Cut narrow nipples are definitely worth trying.

The Y-Cut nipple is suitable for thicker liquids (like formula cereal mixes). The Y-Cut + internal vent system helps reduce colic, gas, spit-up useful if your toddler still uses bottle feedings. The nipple flow tends to be faster (or variable) which may be good if your child eats quickly or drinks more at each feeding. Overall take: If your toddler still regularly drinks from a bottle and you occasionally mix formula or thicker liquids, this Y-Cut nipple is a convenient and legit option. If you’re trying to wean toward cups, though, it might be better to switch to a sippy cup or spout.
