Q: Can these be used edging up hill?

Well they certainly can if you don't mind the sandstone blocks looking tipped at the angle of the hill. Personally, I think that would look a bit odd. Hope this helps.

Q: How strong are these? I have kids and fear they (or their friends) might stand on the edging. Will these break?

I am 5’1” and 130 lbs. I have stepped on mine (unintentionally) several times and so far I haven’t noticed and chipping or cracks but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen. They have been great in the Oklahoma severe storms ( lots of rain ) and now week after week of heat indices of 105-125 and they still look great. I love them.

Q: Can extra spike be used per section

This material is very easy to drill. You need to align the holes as best you can on both top and bottom. That will allow your landscaping spike to be nailed into the ground more easily.
