Much better than expected an easy to set up

The Carlinkit FireDrive CarPlay to HDMI Cable Adapter is a great device for in-car entertainment. To work, it needs the vehicle to support wired CarPlay. Once fitted, the device can stream movies and apps directly to the car’s central screen. It requires a Fire TV Stick to use this adapter, once connected it converts the cars wired CarPlay connection into HDMI (via iPhone connection) so content can be streamed from the Fire Stick, e.g. Netflix, YouTube, etc. This clever device allows you to view streamed movies via a Fire Stick on the car’s central screen. It entertaining my grandkids on long journeys, without them looking down at their tables (so helping prevent car sickness). The setup is simple, plug it into your CarPlay outlet, connect it to your Fire TV Stick, and it is ready. NB: It’s not compatible with Android Auto or certain vehicles like BMW or Tesla.

I'm sorry to say that after much trial and error this little dongle doesn't work with my MG5's wired Car Play. The MG5 is notorious for being picky about which cables work, so I assume it's the car rather than the device, which powers on and seems to be working, I just never get a signal to the in car infotainment screen. During my experimentation I tried plugging my Macbook Pro into it to see if the issue was with my fire stick. The Mac recognised the device and outputted 1080p 60Hz to it, so it seems that the device itself is working and would also allow you to output other devices to the infotainment screen too. Maybe a console? Worth a try. The box contains everything you need to get started, but worth noting that you require 2 USB sockets in the car, one for the Car Play signal and another for additional power. Overall it didn't work for me, but I'm going to try with another car when I find a family member with Car Play.

Arrived quickly and well packaged. Excellent high quality and works really well in car

Setting up is easy, as long as you have a TV stick and a car that this device is compatible with that has CarPlay then it should work. It comes with various different adapters so any USB or USB-C ports can be connected to it, and it comes with full instructions. Once plugged into the correct ports with the TV stick in, the CarPlay is working and able to stream anywhere you are in your car. The connection has been perfect so far with no interruptions. I think the price seems ok for the home comforts I can now take with me whenever I travel.

I own a VW Car and just wanted something Relatively Inexpensive, which would Turn the Current In-Car Screen into a MultiMedia Device where I could Stream Movies to - I figured this would Hopefully keep my Young Kids Entertained on Long Journeys? All I can say is that it was So Easy to Connect/Set-Up and it Works an Absolute Treat! Price wise, it’s selling for just £65.99, but there’s currently a £6 off voucher on the advert that knocks it down to just under the £60 mark, which I think is Spot-On. Overall, I Don’t Technically Know How It Works, But It Does and Hat’s-Off to the Manufacturer “Carlinkit” for Creating Such a Great Device! Thank you.

It’s ok but doesn’t have carplay

J’ai branché le machin, j’ai cligné des yeux, paf ça marchait. Aucune appli, pas de mise à jour à la noix, pas de compte à créer. Un miracle en 2025. Netflix, YouTube, tout roule. J’ai même regardé un épisode entier dans un parking, le kiff total. Par contre, faut un iPhone. Android Auto ? N’y pense même pas. Et la Fire Stick doit être récente sinon ça saccade un peu. Le boîtier chauffe un peu aussi 😅

Hallo. Ich bin mit dem Amazon Fire HDMI sehr zufrieden.Er ist leicht zu installieren.Und mit der Fernbedienung gut zu steuern.Man sollte ihn aber wegen der Fahrsicherheit nicht während der Fahrt benutzen.Aber in Pausen ist er ein schöne Alternative.

Very bad quality doesn't work

This is a great product. It is very easy to set up and use. I bought a similar product that was way more expensive that was harder to program and never worked. But this product you just plugged in a couple wires and it works. Also the picture and sound is so clear.

Works great! Plugs in and shows my firestick flawlessly. Only thing that would be nice is if there was a way to adjust the aspect ratio for cars with a wider infotainment screen. My car has a 10 inch screen and the carlinkit display is stretched.
