Excellent UST projector for large screens – shines in a dark room
I’ve been using the XGIMI Aura 2 in a fully dark room with a 150-inch projection, and overall I’m extremely impressed with the performance. The picture quality is outstanding for an ultra short throw projector. Colors are vibrant, contrast is strong, and 4K content looks sharp and cinematic at this size. In a dark room, the brightness is more than sufficient, and movies truly feel like a home theater experience. The built-in speakers are surprisingly good as well — easily good enough for casual viewing without an external sound system. I’m currently projecting onto a plain wall, and while the results are very good, it’s clear that this projector would really benefit from a dedicated UST/ALR projector screen. At 150 inches, minor wall imperfections become visible, and blacks and contrast would definitely improve with a proper screen. If you’re investing in a projector at this level, pairing it with a good screen will unlock its full potential. Setup was straightforward, focus and keystone adjustments are easy, and the overall build quality feels premium. Smart features and interface are smooth and responsive. Pros: • Excellent image quality in dark rooms • Handles very large screen sizes well (150”+) • Strong brightness and color reproduction • Good built-in audio • Premium build and easy setup Cons: • To get the best results, a dedicated projector screen is highly recommended • Wall projection is good, but not ideal at this size Verdict: If you’re looking for a high-quality UST projector for a large-screen home theater, the XGIMI Aura 2 is a fantastic choice. Just budget for a proper screen if you want the absolute best experience.

Excellent 4K UST Projector with Stunning Colors
I recently purchased the XGIMI Aura 2 UST Laser Projector from Amazon and I’m extremely happy with the overall experience. The picture quality is excellent — the colors are bright, vibrant, and very well balanced, and the 4K resolution really shines, especially in a dark or dimly lit room. Movie nights genuinely feel cinematic. Setup was straightforward, and being an ultra-short-throw projector makes placement very convenient without needing a large room. The image clarity and sharpness exceeded my expectations for a projector in this category. The built-in sound system is also quite decent for normal viewing. While it may not replace a dedicated home theatre audio setup, it’s more than adequate for everyday movies, TV shows, and casual viewing without immediately needing external speakers. Overall, this is a premium, well-designed product that delivers excellent performance and value. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade to a high-quality UST laser projector. 👍

Excellent UST Projector, Feels Like a Premium TV Replacement
I recently purchased the XGIMI AURA 2 Ultra Short Throw projector, and it has exceeded my expectations. The projector quality is outstanding. It runs silently, with no noticeable fan noise, and performs exceptionally well even in well-lit rooms, which was one of my biggest concerns before buying. Paired with a UST ALR screen, the output honestly looks just like a high-end television. The contrast levels are excellent, colors are rich, and the overall viewing experience feels truly premium. It also has a motorised dust cover which I think is necessary when the object has a high end lenses. It’s also great for gaming, with smooth performance and an immersive large-screen feel. A special mention to the Frootle India team, they were extremely helpful and patient. They answered all my questions in detail before the purchase, which made the decision much easier and gave me confidence. The only areas where I feel XGIMI can improve: • Warranty: LG offers a 3-year warranty on their UST projectors, whereas XGIMI provides only 1 year. I had to purchase an additional year, making it 2 years total. I strongly feel XGIMI should offer at least 2 years standard warranty, with an option to extend to 3 years to compete better with LG. • Native Netflix: The absence of native Netflix support on Google TV is noticeable. Adding this would make the experience even more complete. That said, in terms of performance, picture quality, and overall experience, the AURA 2 is actually better than LG’s UST projectors. Highly recommended for anyone looking to replace a TV with a cinematic, premium home-theatre setup.

I bought for two reasons. The sleek looks and the feature to adapt to an uneven wall (have not invested in a screen thus far). Overall it has been a great product in my first year of use. Great visuals and also surprisingly good speakers for the size. Only thing I wish it had was an IR receiver so I could utilize a third party remote for a very particular AppleTV need (volume).

The top left won't align right. It's bent skewed. It took forever trying to scan the QR code to access the feature. Why do I need to hook up to wifi and Google to set this projector. They're all doing it as a backdoor data grab. 😡 Wall adaptation thing needs to be able to be done without hooking up to the internet and needs improvement. Kept taking photo after photo to get it right. Gave up as it can't seem to give a straight keystone. And be careful not to tap 4pt or 8pt because it will reset the whole keystone and you will have to use wall adaptation mode. Makes 4pt and 8pt feature useless. I'm upset because I spent so much money on this and really was expecting a high end product for the cost only to be short changed. Do I send it back for an exchange? Will the other one be just as bad? Maybe. From my experience from exchanging the other projectors yeah. I really like the brightness level. I fired it up during daylight with the blinds slightly opened and wow a clear colorful picture that wasn't washed out. Went through all the picture modes and adjustments and there's plenty to keep you busy. The picture with Imax capability Dolby Atmos sound. It looks good. 😃 The sound is pretty good could just use a little more bass but yeah I can watch whatever without needing a soundbar. But I had to hook up my Bose soundbar via optical for that home theater sound ... but then I get cuts. It's cutting in n out. wtf. 😐 I check and reconnect and hope it doesn't clip but it does. 😒 The look of this machine is slick and sophisticated. What is it people ask. It just looks cool. Is it a fancy air purifier or stereo? A computer? ... no one knows till I turn it on and the magic door opens slow n smooth. Boom a bright light appears with a menu. It all looks fantastic... until you see the wrinkly messed up top left corner. 🤫 Hurumf I say. Why couldn't this just be right like I've seen in the countless review videos I watched before pulling the trigger. 😢 UPDATE: Customer support contacted me and says its my wall. My wall? All my other projectors work fine and flat on that wall. Even got an ALR screen and it still cannot give me a flat smooth rectangular image. The wall adaptation option should be just that an option but it's not. It's pretty much the only thing you can use to try and get this projecting flat. I also moved it to another wall and used a different screen. Maybe I got a dud. Most of what I watch is in letterbox so it doesn't bother me that bad but in this price range there should be zero issues. Cool projector good picture n sound but mine has keystoning issues.

The projector exceeds expectations, offering excellent 4K and 3D picture quality. I contacted warranty support after my projector suffered from a green tint. They were GREAT! After just a couple of days, I received a label to ship my unit back as part of a warranty replacement. Stella, the representative I contacted, was both friendly and helpful. The projector guides you through setup. The keystone adjustment removed all issues with projector placement. Focus was spot on. It opens with an Android interface that connects to all your favorite online sources. I also use a receiver that connects a BD/4K/3D player, a Windows PC, and an ancillary Android device. I have not yet explored using eARC, which will simplify use when I configure it.

The highest quality and most affordable ultra short throw projector on the market right now. I was shopping for ultra short throw projectors in the $3k range and this is by far the best option. I tried Epson, AWOL, Hisense, and this one beats all of the others by a long shot. This one is also has the smallest footprint, the brightest picture, the quietest fan, the best sound, the best design, the only one to have an automatic protective cover, the safest eye shutoff timing, the shortest distance to the wall, the best software, and the most affordable. Only the Epson was the best at the color, of the ones I tried. AWOL was probably the worst one having the picture cut in and out while watching which was a deal breaker. Hisense was also not great in terms of software options. It did connect to Apple HomeKit which was cool, but not all that useful. It also had no auto shutoff eye protection when looking into the laser, which every other system did. It was the only one that ran on Google TV vs Android TV. It also had a light that was always on, and no option to turn off. The Xgimi has the fastest shutoff time where your eyes will never receive light. a must if you have kids. The others have a slight delay where you’ll be blinded for a split second. Epson had the best color, however it had a much larger footprint on the entertainment center and had to be further from the wall, so it was almost falling off. It also required manual focus, and no auto-keystone, and the fan was noticeably loud after a while. So yes the Xgimi is by far the best option. There are some improvement that could be made. It’s running on Android TV, but I think I like Google TV software better. Also if the color laser has the same technology as the Epson, it would be perfect. EPSON was the only where you couldn’t see the blue/green/red colors if you moved your eyes quickly. I wish the remote had an “input” button and the volume buttons would be easier to see. It looks like you could buy another version of the remote on their website with these options. The pros: it has Auto keystone on startup and movement. If you move the projector, it can autofocus. It can also auto keystone on power on. The reason this is a must for me is because it’s on a separate entertainment center on hardwood. Any slight movement to the entertainment center or the projector requires you to redo the keystone. When it’s complicated to do, then it’s a pain to get right. Some of the other projectors require an App where you take a picture of the screen on your phone, or manually adjust each corner. It also supports WiFi 6, which is one of the few devices I own that supports it. The audio was also important for us, because we didn’t want to buy a separate sound bar. This one had the best sounding audio of all the systems I tested. So it was pretty much a no brainer to choose this one, I can’t recommend this enough! Definitely a 5 star purchase.

I’m a big fan of XGIMI projectors, having used them for a long time. Recently, I purchased the XGIMI AURA 2 short-throw projector, one of their latest releases this year. I absolutely love it! The picture and sound quality are outstanding, making it perfect for a home theater, bedroom, or living room setup. One of the standout features is the built-in Harman/Kardon sound system, which eliminates the need for an additional soundbar. The new Dual Light 2.0 technology and IMAX Enhanced certification take the viewing experience to the next level, setting this projector apart from the competition. It also comes loaded with convenient features like auto keystone correction, auto focus, wall color adaptation, an eye comfort mode, 3D support, and more. These enhancements make using this projector a truly enjoyable experience. The design and build quality are also impressive, featuring a protective on/off shutter for the lens. This thoughtful addition not only enhances durability but also adds to its sleek design. I highly recommend the XGIMI AURA 2. It’s a fantastic investment, and I’m confident you’ll love it as much as I do!
