E-Learning with Camtasia Studio

Well presented, very useful information.

This book was a good overview of creating e-learning content. I would have liked more in-depth coverage of Camtasia, but the details about the application that were included were very good. There were plenty of exercises the reader can work through to get practical application of the concepts being taught. One other issue with the book is that it uses an older version of Camtasia. So, if you're using Camtasia 2020, some of the screenshots will look didderent from your version of the application. However, the key concepts of using Camtasia have not really changed between versions. If you're looking for a complete review of Camtasia, this book will not meet that need, but if you are looking for information on creatiing e-learning content using Camtasia, this book will be a good starting point.

Well written and a good guide for using Camtasia!

I bought this book because I wanted something that would take a new user through the components of Camtasia and utilize samples so that I could apply what I am learning as I am going through the book. I learn better this way than just reading and then re-learning again with a project of my own. This book is out of date in several aspects and should be updated if continued to be sold on Amazon. One, it uses an earlier version of Camtasia that has a slightly different interface. Two, if you plan to use the media files provided for the book (Try It exercises in Chapter 6), the TechSmith URLs are out of date, the samples provided are no longer provided on the TechSmith website, and the intro for the sample project does not come with the title animation with it. I had to create my own title with text. Since using these samples is likely the main reason people like me are buying this book, it is important that the author update this to clarify things for the user and make it a more enjoyable experience. Otherwise, we may be liable to turn to Lynda.com or YouTube videos rather than buying this book.

I use Camtasia at work and it can be difficult. These book is laid out great and easy to understand. I am glad I purchased it.

Are you a new or intermediate user of Camtasia Studio and want a book to keep on hand to answer your technical questions? This is a great book for you. In my view, this book is not like some that lead you through a project step-by-step. Rather, it seems to best suit the needs of those who have a project in mind and are at a loss for how to proceed once the software is installed. This book is very well detailed and covers all of the basic needs for the average user. I found that book “E-learning with Camtasia Studio” is a great book for the advanced user. I wish that the book had covered more of how to use the Visual properties. This is a powerful new feature in 8.0 and 8.1. Overall, this was a good book that should be in everyone’s library. In many respects, it complements the information that is provided by Techsmith the developer of Camtasia.

The book is quite informative.

I bought this book so I could read it when travelling, in bed etc. Many checklists and examples are not in the book have to be downloaded, so that doesn't help me. Also, you have to register your details.
