I bought this can colander specifically for draining tuna, because I’ve always hated dealing with the messy, awkward process of squeezing the liquid out of the can. This little tool has made such a difference. It works even better than I expected. Just place it on top of the opened can, press lightly, and the liquid drains right out with no mess and no struggle. The quality is excellent, it’s extremely sturdy, well-made, and feels like it will last a long time. Even though I purchased it mainly for tuna, I can already tell it will come in handy for other canned foods as well. It has quickly become one of my favorite kitchen gadgets, and I’m honestly surprised at how much easier it has made such a simple task. If you regularly use canned foods, this is absolutely worth having. I’m very happy with this purchase.

I purchased this (actually I bought two) to help strain homemade kefir from the kefir grains. It works marvelously well for that purpose; much better than a fine mesh tea strainer. This strainer fits perfectly in the top of any wide mouth mason jar. My thick, drinkable kefir flows right through, catching the grains to be reused for the next batch. And the plastic composition takes away any concerns of metal contacting the grains (even though all my metal strainers are stainless steel and non-reactive). But this little strainer does so much more! Yes, it drains tuna & other canned seafood as it is designed to do, but it is indispensable for draining anything in a 15-oz or similarly sized can: fruit, veggies, beans, etc. I think I’ll get a couple more (they are certainly affordable) and take them to our Thanksgiving gathering to gift to the people who like to cook. I know they will be appreciated.

So, this has been working great, with my old can opener. The kind of opener where the lid will fall into the can. I used this strainer to push down on the lid in the can and the tuna drained very well. Now I have a new can opener that cuts the lid and the rim off. So the lid cannot fit into the can so this strainer does not go to the edge and as I push down tuna squeezes out around the edge. I hope they will make a larger version that goes to the sides of the can.

This is the second time ordering one of these only I have it in red. This one is for my mother. It’s very sturdy, it’s easy to empty use for tuna or cans where you want to empty liquid. Came very fast.

I bought this to drain the juice out of my grandkids fruit cups. Works great.

As stated in the item description, this strainer works best for tuna cans. It works great for that. I used to have to squeeze the rest of the water out of the tuna with my hands - no need to do that with this strainer. It also works for other things, such as vegetables, but it only fits the smaller cans and can be tricky when returning the can to the upright position. Made of hard plastic, it should last for years; it's easy to clean; and designed perfectly for small cans of tuna.

I usually use a sieve to strain the contents or balance the sharp metal lid over the can to drain, hoping to not loose any contents in the process, as using a colander I found had too bigger holes for some contents and would loose them through the holes, and with the price of food these days, I can’t be wasting anything. This gadget makes it so much easier to strain the liquid from the contents, much quicker too than straining through the sieve and it’s so much easier to clean. The sieve is great for not loosing any contents, but it a real pain to clean in between those tiny spaces. Pros: This gadget is lightweight, easy to hold as I have a mobility issue right now. Takes up less cupboard space than a colander or sieve and I’m not loosing expensive food when draining. Much easier to clean than a colander or sieve. Cons: The color for me, I would have preferred a white to blue, but it’s better than nothing, not a huge deal but my preference. Price is a little steep for what it is, but the benefits do out way the cost.

This colander is extremely durable and well made. It works very well on canned goods and is easy to clean. The only issue I have is the diameter is a little too small for tuna cans, which is what I purchased it for. It gets the job done, but can make a little bit of a mess when pressing into a regular size tuna can.

Dieses Sieb ist dazu gedacht, um die Flüssigkeit aus diversen Dosen auszuschütten und den Inhalt gleichzeitig in der Dose zu behalten. Dies eignet sich besonders gut zum abschütten von Gemüse wie z.B. Mais oder Erbsen. Das Sieb passt entweder als Aufsatz auf die kleinen Dosen, oder umgekehrt mit der Wölbung nach innen in die Dose selbst. So lassen sich auch größere Dosen problemlos von der Flüssigkeit befreien. Das Sieb ist sehr gut verarbeitet und hat für diesen Preis wirklich keinerlei negative Eigenschaften. Der Gestank oder schlecht verarbeitetes Plastik, wie es oft bei anderen China-Produkten der Fall ist, fehlt hier. Alles super Qualität und wirklich sehr praktisch. PS: Manchmal benutze ich das Sieb auch zum verstreuen von Parmesan! Klappt auch wunderbar.

A little last minute gift for my girlfriend who loves her tuna. After watching her cut her fingers on several occasions trying to drain the water using the lid method I thought there must be a better way. Turns out the best solution is usually the easiest. This strainer works like a charm and she loves it. Open the can, push the strainer down, empty it into the sink. Simple, Fun, Safe.
