Low dosage is good, works well for me
I've been taking these, earlier the 300 mcg, to help keep me at a deeper sleep. Long term problem, physician involved, etc. I've found this brand to be the best. I like the very small <1mg dosage, which my doctor said was good (least amount that works is best). And he is okay with my long-term use under 3mg. For me, low dose melatonin doesn't knock me out or make me sleep like a narcotic, but it keeps me groggier so that when I wake up (often many times a night) I am not wide awake, thinking, but more "not caring" and therefore more easy to fall back to sleep. I thought maybe the 300 mcg was not working as well so went with the 700, but I plan to retry the 300 again when I run out. There are other factors (comfort - time of year, house temperature, noise, animals, etc.). Stronger melatonin will give me a totally awful sleep and headaches, but not at 300-700 mcg and I think the timed release helps. There's much more to the story - never more than once a week 5 mg Ambien, occasionally a cup of coffee on down days (helps with depression, I'm decaf normally, again the headaches)... It's working for me.

Perfect Dosage, Time Release works. Love it
GREAT product. I had trouble finding 1mg time release melatonin so I tried these 750mcg (75% as much) and they are perfect! Man do I sleep well. Most melatonin products are WAY too much mg. Humans don't need 3Mg it's overkill. These lower doses, time released, keeps me asleep all night. I'm 57 years old btw and it's great. I just hope they never discontinue it!

Good dose and time release
Hard to find a low dose that’s also time release. People seem to love taking unhealthy doses of melatonin…

6 hour release
I’ve never had insomnia, but I wanted to try this to see if it could help keep me asleep. It does work, but as is advertised, it lasts for six hours- after which I wake up. If I were to make any improvements, it would either be making it last 8 hours, or reducing the effective time to 4 hours to at least be able to wake up and take another

Work as promised
I had been buying 1mg timed release melatonin tablets from another brand but for some reason they became unavailable. I didn't need or want a higher dosage. These are a slightly lower dosage, one tablet is strong enough for me and the 6 hour timed release period seems about right. I'm satisfied.

Had a severe reaction
Not only did this not help me sleep (it didn't; I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep), it also made me very ill. It started with an upset stomach soon after taking one pill 1 hr before bedtime. When I then woke up, I had body aches, and over the next day, the aches and GI symptoms became really bad. I wasn't back to normal until 2 days after taking this. Maybe it was an allergic reaction, who knows. I'm throwing this awful stuff out.

No help staying asleep
I have no trouble falling asleep, but I wake up multiple times a night. I thought the extended release formula would help, but I woke up exactly six hours after taking this and I need 8-9 hours of sleep to feel rested. So, back to the drawing board.

The answer to my insomnia
Life Extension is a great company with fantastic products. I was used to taking 3 mg Melatonin timed release but, due to lack of availability of Melatonin, they decreased the dosage to mcg. Micrograms are smaller the milligrams, so I have to take 4 tablets to equal 3 mg dose. Sadly, 1 bottle only lasts 15 days. Good luck and sleep well.
