This review is for a replacement joystick cover only
This review is for a replacement joystick cover that fits onto the gaiter on an electric wheelchair, and not for the electric wheelchair (the listing may be combined and changed to a different item than this review is for). Please see the attached picture for item received and reviewing. The replacement joystick is a universal fit and a good replacement for the silicone portion to control the direction of the wheelchair. It sits on top of the agitator, and does not come with an adhesive. This works for our electric wheelchair and gave my mom a larger joystick to hold onto than the one that was provided with the chair. The pack included two joysticks and was offered for under ten dollars, which I felt was a good value for the replacement part. The joystick was made from a hard silicone material and appears to be good quality.

Tiny Cap, Huge Win for My Wheelchair
I bought this joystick button cap thinking it was a small, boring replacement part and somehow it ended up being one of the most satisfying little upgrades I have made to my electric wheelchair. It popped on easily, fit my controller perfectly, and instantly made the joystick more comfortable and grippy, which my hand noticed immediately and thanked me for. The silica material feels sturdy but not hard, like it actually wants to help instead of slipping around, and after daily use it still looks and feels brand new. I also appreciate how universal it is because it fit without any drama or modification, which is rare in the world of wheelchair accessories. It is one of those inexpensive items that quietly improves your day every single time you use it, and honestly I kind of wish I had bought a spare just in case. If your joystick is worn, slick, or just sad looking, this little cap is an easy win and a surprisingly good value for such a tiny hero

Wheelchair controller cover
The controller piece fits my wheelchair very snugly. In fact, better than the one that came with it

How do you connect?
I wish that I could tell you that I am reviewing this jazzy looking lightweight electric wheelchair. But I am not. I have however, been entrusted to review the small replacement caps that sit on top of the joystick on the wheelchair. Two of them came in the package. I have an electric wheelchair myself. And it is the only joystick I have ever used. I took off the joystick cap on my chair and put one of the new ones on. Fortunately, there must be a universal fit. The next time I took my wheelchair out for a spin, I was using the new endcap. There was a difference. My touch was more sensitive, and II had to be more careful. I was more "connected" with the wheelchair, as if it was an extension of my hand. I'm not sure I can describe it, but every little movement of my muscles or nerves made a difference. I'm thinking that this more sensitive endcap may be better for people that have very little energy or are weak. I don't know anything about joysticks. But I looked them up briefly on the Internet. And I saw that the industries that manufacture joysticks research to somehow make rubber that reacts to the the body's nervous system or something. You can see I really don't understand. But I could feel it. For a while, I thought I had gotten two replacement caps that were identical. But I got my measuring tape out. Both of them were the same height, at a little less than 2 inches. When I looked carefully, I noticed that one was a little bit rounder in the middle than the other. And the same one also had a softer, matte finish. That was the one that was more sensitive. I then took off the first cap that I had tried and put on the second one. That was straighter and had a harder finish. I then put the other end cap on my joystick. It seemed to operate about the same way as the one that came with my wheelchair. It just seem normal to me.

Simple fix that works well with a little glue
Got this for my mom’s electric wheelchair after the original joystick cap wore out, and it ended up being a solid solution. The fit was close, but not perfect—so we just added a small bit of glue to hold it in place, and that did the trick. Once secured, it hasn’t slipped or moved at all, even with daily use. The cap itself feels sturdy and comfortable to the touch, which makes it easier for her to control the chair without strain. It’s also a nice upgrade in terms of grip and responsiveness, especially for someone with limited hand strength. For something so simple and inexpensive, it made a noticeable improvement to her day-to-day comfort and mobility. Just keep in mind you might need a little adhesive to get it to stay snug, depending on your joystick type. But once it’s on, it works exactly the way you’d hope.

Great replacements, especially the softer one!
I ordered this set to replace the worn-out joystick knob on my grandfather's electric wheelchair. It was a perfect fit for his controller and installed easily just by pushing it onto the stem. What I really appreciated is that the package included two different types of knobs. One is a harder plastic, and the other is a softer, more flexible rubber-like material. My grandfather definitely preferred the softer, gummy one. It provides much better grip for his fingers and feels more comfortable to use for long periods compared to the hard plastic version. Having the option to choose which feel works best for the user is a fantastic feature. It’s a small upgrade that made driving his chair much easier.

Finally, All-Day Freedom!
The battery life on this chair is phenomenal. I can go out for the whole day to the mall or the park and not worry once about running out of power. The fact that the batteries are securely fixed is also a huge plus for peace of mind when I have to leave it for a moment. Brilliant design!
