Perfect solution for busy days — tasty, satisfying, and nutritionally complete I’ve been searching for a product like this for a long time — something that can fill the gap when I don't have time to sit down and eat a proper meal. Huel Black Edition Ready-to-Drink (Vanilla) has quickly become a go-to option for me. It’s more than just a protein shake — it feels like a real meal in a bottle. I’m not a professional athlete, but I try to stay healthy and make sure I get enough protein. That’s not always easy when life gets hectic. Low protein intake can lead to fatigue, muscle pain, and even anemia — and most people don’t realize they’re not getting enough. This drink helps me stay on track without stress, cooking, or prep. ➕️What I really love: 35g of high-quality, plant-based protein per bottle — that’s impressive for a drink you can carry around. The Vanilla flavor is surprisingly good — not too sweet, no artificial aftertaste, and very smooth. I actually enjoy drinking it. No refrigeration needed — huge plus! I can just toss it in my bag and take it to work, the gym, or even on a trip. Decent calorie content (~400 kcal) — enough to replace a meal, especially if I’m in a rush or not super hungry. Packed with 27 vitamins and minerals — it’s comforting to know I’m not just getting protein, but also micronutrients my body needs. No artificial sweeteners or weird chemical taste — big win for me. ➖️ A few small things to note: It’s a bit high in fat, especially compared to standard protein shakes — but that’s likely what makes it feel more filling. I would appreciate a bit more fiber for digestion and longer satiety — though there’s already some in there thanks to the plant ingredients. That said, these are very minor points and don’t take away from the overall experience. ✔️Final thoughts: If you're someone who skips meals, eats on the go, or struggles to hit your protein goals — especially on busy weekdays — this is one of the best ready-made options out there. It’s satisfying, clean, convenient, and thoughtfully formulated. I’ll definitely keep buying it and recommending it to others. Huel nailed it with this one.

This is a VERY delicious meal replacement option! The vanilla is smooth and delicious (not even gritty at all, despite the plant-based protein) and also works as a perfect base to add to a morning smoothie or shake. I usually enjoy it by itself however. The lids are also interesting as they open fully yet have a little bit of a "flip-top" portion that prevents it from fully coming off. After shaking the bottle the liquid may pool inside the cap which can be annoying sometimes. The 35g of protein, 6g of fiber, and numerous other included vitamins/minerals makes this a great way to ensure you are getting what your body deserves, especially on busy days! The coconut sugar added is minimal, yet adds just enough sweetness to the shake. This is also perfect for those who hate the taste of Stevia. Furthermore, this makes sense price-wise (around $4.50/bottle) as you get both the convenience and nutritional value a single bottle provides. (I believe a single bottle is around a third of most peoples' protein goals.) I've been purchasing Huel for a while now and they've never disappointed me!

Flavor is disgusting and drinking this makes my flatulence smell like a garbage truck. It’s not even a bland flavor, it’s an earthy and fishy stew flavor with a hint of vanilla. Supposedly it’s not supposed to taste like fish. If it does it means their omega fats have spoiled (according to the internet). Then according to other sites the taste is earthy because I must have a high sugar diet. That’s untrue because I’ve been low sugar and no other sweeteners for a long time. So the only thing worse than the flavor is now knowing I’m drinking spoiled ingredients. On the positive side the drink is smooth and not chunky or gritty as others have mentioned. It’s not thick, flows well. No noticeable difference in energy levels. I plan to finish what I purchased and never buy again. I wanted something quick, easy, and healthy but this ain’t it.

Update #2: I like the Vanilla better than the chocolate (that surprises me) and I am not getting the light shakes I was getting with the chocolate. Cocoa powder can sometimes mess with me, so I am thinking was the flavor not the shake. I think I like them. I drink maybe 1 a week because they are so pricey. It makes me wonder why I have tried ensure.... they look like the same thing. I might have to give ensure a try. I really wish these were made with Stevia. I can handle Stevia, but my stomach can handle only so much sucralose. It is sad you charge so much and yet you are basically Ensure... And why do I have to consume in 12 hours? ------------------------- Update: ok the chocolate flavor and thickness is getting easier. I am still adding water to it to water it down, but it is drinkable to me. Blood sugar did ok the second time, but I had only half of it instead of the entire bottle. Jury is still out. I really wish this was made with Stevia and not sucralose :(. My stomach doesnt like fake sugars except it handles Stevia the best. So this might be a deciding factor as well. ------- I was eager to get this so I am eager to review. The taste and thickness is not for the faint at heart. I found it much more tolerable drinking 1/5 of it, adding water to it, shaking it good, drink some more, add a bit more water, and then it wasn't so thick and it became more tolerable. It takes longer in the fridge to get cold than other protein shakes, so adding the cold water makes it colder if I didn't put it in the fridge early enough in the morning. I dont think it is too much liquid. I am not surprised it is thick. 400 calories is a lot to cram in a 16.9 ounce bottle! Not to mention all the nutrients. So for those who think this should be less liquid, remember, this is 400 calories. I am impressed they got it down to 16.9 ounces. I got the chocolate. It is not like other chocolate protein shakes but I didn't mind it. I have to try again, but the first time I had it I think it messed with my blood sugar! I am SHOCKED. I was shaky the entire day. The shake was the only change to my routine. I'm nervous to try it again, but I will give it one more try and then I will update this review. I am going to be SOOO bummed if this messes with my blood sugar. No other protein shake messes with my blood sugar. I realize it is a meal shake, but I didn't think this would mess with my blood sugar.

Tastes better than the Huel energy drinks, but still not great. And the texture and consistency is like cold snot because it's so thick, so it's hard to get one of them down. I'm sure it's full of protein but I'm not sure I could drink these on a regular basis.
