I wasn't sure what to expect based on the price. But this range finder works very well. The range finder comes very well packaged. A well constructed box contains the range finder, case, wrist strap, 2 batteries, a cloth wipe and instructions. The case fits the range finder well (not a lot of extra space for extras, though I could fit one of the batteries in it). It has a strap inside to holds the range finder in place. And it has a caribiner and wrist strap (different from the one included in the box). The wrist strap in the box can be attached to the range finder. And is your basic strap like what you would get with a small camera. The range finder needs just one battery but this comes with 2 which is noce since it is not a common battery lying around the house. It is a 3V CR2 battery. The cloth wipe is small (rougly 4x2.5 inches). But enough for the lens. The instructions are light. They contain information for multiple models and multiple languages. For one model/language it is 3 pages. 1 showing where each feature is located, 1 describing the 3 different modes and 1 with basic usage. It's enough information to use. The range finder supports yards and meters. And, has 3 modes. Mode 1 shows slope adjusted distance and flagpole distance. Mode 2 replaces the slope adjusted with a horizontal distance and mode 3 replaces the slope adjusted distance with a vertical distance. The eyepiece can be turned to adjust focus. To use the finder, press the power button. Aim the cross hairs and press the power button again. Distances are shown. Actual use. It all worked well. The only problem I had was that since the viewer is zoomed, slight shakes move the cross hairs. You have to be very steady. Most likely a couple of tries to get the distance. Using actual markers, the distance was accurate. Overall, I'm very pleased with the range finder.

This is a good range finder for the price, but it's very much tailored for golfing and not so much for general use. You can switch the units from yards to meters, but not feet, which would be useful for a more general use. I found the slope finding to be very useful and to work quite well. I was able to tell how much denivelation where was between my deck and where I wanted to install a pole for a clothesline, which helped me select the appropriate length needed. It comes with a semi hard case with a zipper closing to protect the device, as well as 2 lithium batteries. The unit only requires 1 to operate, so you have 1 extra battery. Very good! Given it's the winter, I was playing around with it and tried to see if it could get reading through a window. Short answer is: sometimes, but the results are not accurate. So don't do it. There is a mysterious sliding toggle button just under the opening were you would look into that seems to do nothing at all, and is not explained in the manual. I found this very confusing. I wish the manual would explain what it does, or confirm it doesn't do anything. But a base model, this is a very good product and I find that the price of approximately 120$ with a 10% coupon to bring the price down even further is a good deal.

Really easy to use. Press power once to turn on the range finder, position the cross hair at the target and then press power again to get the distance. Has a sliding on/off switch to save battery. By default it came set up for yards but a long press on the mode button changed it to meters. Uses one 3V CR2 lithium battery. Comes with two batteries so you have a spare. Not clear yet how long the battery will last. Includes a hard case with wrist strap and a carabiner to attach to your bag. Fairly light, just 174g including battery. Also comes with a cleaning cloth. The base of the unit has a screw thread for a tripod mount - perhaps for a driving range? The user manual has 42 pages but that's because it describes 7 different models in two languages. Really the instructions for this model are just 3 pages. Flipping through the manual there are other models with USB charging. They might be more convenient than this one which uses disposable lithium batteries.

The item arrived very quickly, the price is incredible compared to the North American brands, which are undoubtably also made in China. Golf course is closed, but the unit worked very well around the property and even across the lake. I’d have given it 5 stars but haven’t tried the slope feature yet. Definitely a good buy!

For my level of golf, and for the activities I do in my new area with river, woodlands and places I am exploring, this is a good device to have. It certainly helps train me to be judging distances and is easier than the manual methods I use and learned as a young soldier. I would have prefered if the design incorporated a rechargable battery or an internal storage for a spare. Having it loose in the hard case is not the best of options.
