The digital microscope with this type of arm is great! The resolution is great, and the adjustable intensity ring light is very helpful. You can balance the intensity of the ring light with the built in light to achieve a perfect view. The various image adjustments and quality monitor make it easy to see the subject and take quality video or still images. The rack and pinion adjustment had a little too much slack in the gearing (gear lash) and the arm could offer a little more resistance to movement. I tried tightening the middle arm screws, but this didn't help. The large steel base is heavy enough to make the unit very stable. I use it for inspection of knife blade edges during the sharpening process. This definitely makes a difference in the sharpening process. Thanks for a great product!

Works well,nice to use

I love it. The camera works perfect and pretty clear. Remote is making easy to take pictures or expand them. Two thousands times that help me to see all details of coin. Thank you for the good product.

Good for the price in general. Good image quality and features. The included light ring could or either be USB powered from the unit or provide 5V to the unit. As it is you need two outlets (one for a USB charger and one for the light ring).

As the TM4K sits it cannot be used for soldering SMT parts. I have used a traditional microscope for over 15 years to hand solder 0805, 0603 and a variety of microprocessors. I always had adequate magnification and plenty of room between the PCB and the lens to be able to get any part soldered. The Tomlov is a disappointment for performing these tasks. Using the Tolov screen you cannot get adequate magnification and room between the PCB and the lens. Trying to position the soldering iron you may slightly touch the light ring around the lens and everything is moved. When performing rework it is almost impossible to get into tight spaces between components. The only way to get adequate magnification and space is to purchase a 32" ( or larger ) monitor to connect to the Tomlov. If you are looking at bugs or coins this is fine. If you are looking to solder SMT parts to PCBs I would not recommend the Tomlov unless you purchase a large monitor to use with it.
