this indicator is very nice for using in the mill indicating vises and fixtures in with no problems at all the magnet holds it in place so you can see the proper location of the part or fixture i would recommend this indicator to friend

Indicator is ok, stand is garbage, but can be rebuilt
I knew pretty much exactly what I would get with this kit. A respectable indicator and a garbage stand/arm. Indicator isn’t silky smooth, but it works and reads accurately against my DRO over a full rotation. The stand/arms is of course junk. Primary issue is simply that the rod arms (which provide pressure to lock) are very poorly machined. Sharp edges, burrs, generally wrong geometry which also led to spherical ball joints being gouged up. If you are so inclined and have the tools, you can disassemble everything, polish up the ball joints, polish and smooth the retaining rings, cut appropriately radiused reliefs in the push rods and appropriate wedge angles, wax it all up and reassemble. Now my arms are silky smooth and lock solid. A couple hours of time to get this more like a $150 indicator set.

Would not recommend.
First of all I think the picture makes the dial part look bigger than it is. I could live with that but the dovetail holder won't go on the instrument. I could force it I suppose, but I don't want to hassle getting this in the base arm every time I change my set up. Plus the magnetic base is weak. If you bumped it there would be movement. My other bases are almost impossible to move when on and certainly aren't going anywhere if lightly bumped. Overall, this tool might be OK for checking a table saw blade but it's not for any machine shop. Not my modest shop anyway.

Build quality is decent
Great for the price but it’s still not gonna compete with a more expensive model in the machine shop. For my use it’s perfect

Weaker than anticipated magnet. Good reach ability. I wish there was a bit more travel in the indicator probe.

I don't like this product at all. It does not articulate well, you cannot zero it, the guage is to small. May be okay for a jewellers lathe but not my mini lathe. Returned.

Good dial indicator for the price. Only complaint is that the knob for tightening the split sleeve did break. Fortunately it's a Philips head screw underneath and works fine. As far as I can tell it's movement is accurate. I use it to dial in tools on a CNC and .0001" does pick up on the dial.
