Anyone else able to get a sata m.2 to work in ssd slot #3? the instructions say it's compatible but my drive isn't working

It should, if not, this may be an issue with the SSD or an issue with the slot. I would recommend reaching out to customer service regarding this

Probably not. I didn’t have to for my 7800x3d to work. But you should update after its up and running for security.

Will the most recent bios update 1.18 that was released on 2/22 support the x3d processors even though they came out on 2/28?

No, you would need at least 1.21 for the x3d chipset as of 5/26/23

RAM is completely up to preference. OS has a minimum requirement and depending on what you intend to do with the system will also change what amount and what speeds of RAM you'll choose.
