High quality, built to last, great for cracking black walnuts

Order this specifically to use for black walnuts, which are incredibly hard to crack. Generally people crack the black walnuts with a hammer. This works just fine to do the black walnuts and I would definitely buy again. FYI, Black walnuts have a husk around them that has to be dried and removed before you can crack the nuts.

I have shelled about 150 black walnuts to date with this and it works well. It does take some finesse with the amount of strength you're using to prevent from pulverized the nuts but it's not difficult. It's made tough, I have no doubt it will outlast me. The issue is when it arrived the metal was pitted and a knock was broken out of the base. Packaging was non existent. A cardboard box with no padding. The impression I get is a bunch of these were made and have been sitting in a warehouse being ignored for years. I took a star off because the product I received wasn't in "like new" condition. I don't think it was ever used, just improperly stored. Still a good nutcracker and the cheapest option I've found that can handle black walnuts.

I've cracked black walnuts and other nuts with it. I'm happy with it. I would buy this again. And it seems like it'll last a LONG time.

I'm dissatisfied with the performance of this nutcracker. It shatters the shells into tiny fragments, making it impossible to extract any large nut pieces. Additionally, it arrived full of rust, scratches, and pits, indicating poor material and craftsmanship in my opinion.

I received this item it works well, however the workmanship on this item is lacking. The paint was flaking off and there was rust on theSprings and bolts. I did not send it back because I didn’t use it right away and it was past the time to send it back. I don’t think it’s worth the money that it cost. It looks Like you have been used before and sent back in

I've always loved back walnuts, but they were so hard to shell and get quality meat. This cracker is the best! You get full pieces of meat...not every time...but most of the time. Better than a hammer or rock! I cracked five walnuts and had a small plateful of meat. Delicious! It takes some getting used to...a few minutes. You disengage and slide the handle until you have the nut firmly between the heads and then crank the handle. You can also adjust the heads for the perfect fit depending on you nuts. If you like black walnuts, or any tree nuts for that matter, I highly recommend this cracker!

This is amazing. As someone with glass furniture, I was wondering how I was going to secure this for use. No problem- it even works just sitting on a counter. It doesnt require much effort to crack black walnuts, as advertised. Honestly, I was skeptical but it truly works. My next step will be to find a piece of black wood, in order to match my kitchen. Or the cheap route- two by four painted black.
