The Psychi Winter Walking Axe is an essential piece of kit when out in the mountains. This lightweight axe is made from Aluminium Alloy with a Hot Forged Steel head meaning its both light and strong. Other features include an Adze end to help self arrest and rubberised handle for a strong grip. Available 70cm length.

A great purchase
I wasn't sure what to expect with so many different types of ice axe available on here. After a couple of days of weighing up items I chose this one because of the price compared to others considering it was brand new! I bought two, the other one for my climbing mate. It arrived quickly and was as expected. The biggest surprise was how lightweight it was yet really sturdy. Having tried it on the mountain and practised arrests with it I can say it is well up to the job!If I needed another one I'd definitley buy this again.

Effective
This was the first year I've done any hiking in the snow. This axe was good value, lightweight and effective. Probably not great for more serious hikers, but ideal for me testing the water. Got me through a couple of fantastic walks up Tryfan and Snowdon in the snow.

Great first axe
Feels safe sturdy in hand and helped me to the top of Snowdon via Crib Goch in winter. Would recommend as a first ice axe. Quick delivery too.
