Bought my wife this tamagotchi as a gift and she loved it. There is plenty to do, lots of charm and the color bigger display makes a difference. You can also connect with other tamagotchis and breed future Tamas. Lots of mini games too. Battery life has been great too. Using a pair of AAAs, these will last 1.5 months.

Love it! So fun and easy to learn. Lots of features that don't get old or boring or repetitive. Still learning new things on this! I'm a millennial who grew up with the classic 90s Tamagotchi, and this is such a refreshing, fun new way to revive that feeling of nostalgia! You don't have to know anyone else with one to be able to play and enjoy. A great feature is the Tama sitter, who watches your Tama during the day so if you're at work or school, it won't die immediately like the 90s ones did! Color screen, great animations, various settings and foods and games... really really fun!!

I've experienced a lot of tamagotchi models, but this was my first colour version, and I could not be happier! This is exactly the digital pet experience I didn't even know I was looking for. It's so much fun! There are so many games to play, even playing games in the tama lab to buy stuff from the store is fun. The walking game is the most difficult of all, I really doubt I'll ever manage that one successfully. The plethora of tama character possibilities gives this iteration so much replayability, and it does not outstay its welcome as the tamas are relatively easy to take care of without obsessive micromanagement. They can be put to bed at around 7pm, and wake up on their own around 10am (but could be woken up earlier, as they can also be allowed to stay up later), and the tamasitter is a great function. This unit can really fit into any schedule, child or adult. The wheel spinning mechanic is very cute, it also helps to keep the menus simple and clean. All the controls feel very intuitive, if you have experience with tama devices before. I LOVE the colour screen and how easy it is to see; the lit up screen makes it so easy to play in the dark, and I don't have to try to angle it awkwardly against glare like I have some other models. I wish it was USB rechargeable, but it takes regular AAA batteries, which I guess is more convenient than the button kind. I got some rechargeable AAAs, which should hopefully cut down on battery waste. The unit does go into stand-by mode very quickly, which saves a lot of battery power. I also highly recommend getting a protective case and at minimum a screen protector; the unit is very lightweight, and according to other reviews, the screen is very prone to scratching, so I put mine in a case and applied a screen protector immediately after taking it out of the box.

My daughters absolutely loved these lanyards for their Tamagotchis. They are super cute, good quality, and made carrying their devices around so much easier without worrying about dropping them. The colors and design are adorable and perfect for kids. Definitely a great accessory for any Tamagotchi fan and worth the purchase.

Been loving it. Had it for over a month now and hasn’t needed new batteries! Very big. The screen scratches easy so get protection! Lots of events and little things that make it fun. The dial works great. Connecting with friends and all the different combinations make it enjoyable.

I've been a nerd for these little eggs since I was 7 years old (as well as Digimon. I've had several of different generations and breeding pairs and a few JDM exclusives. My favorite so far was the Tamagotchi Plus Color, which was a Japanese exclusive. It was the first with a color screen. It had in-game goals and rewards and collections and new games to unlock; it really pushed the device forward. It had some of the most addictive minigames. They weren't super innovative, themselves, but they were the most fun and involved minigames in a Tamagotchi, yet. The arrow-shooting game was my favorite. What held it back was a lack of Tama and a lack of things to collect, overall. I was able to 100% collect everything within a few months and then it felt too simple, even the games I enjoyed became too easy just from repetition. This Tamagotchi is definitely the evolution of that and better in almost every way. There are a couple dozen default Tama and hundreds of combinations if you breed them. The in-game rewards and stores are more expansive, if missing some of the more quirky locations. There is a bit more customization for your home and you can "collect" multiple bioms and planets for your Tama to live in. I wish some of the games I played with the Tama were more engaging, though the walk game is fun. There are more minigames in the "TamaLab" though, which makes up for that. There is also the benefit in that the TamaLab games don't interfere with your care routines, if you're trying to get a specific Tama. I'm really happy to see Bandai keep the toys going and innovating without changing what makes the toys special. And to bring their more advanced, color Tamagotchis to other markets and languages.

We got this for our 9-year-old son, and he absolutely loves it! Such an awesome upgrade to the original tamagotchi.

This is a really fun addition to the tamagotchi line. The animations are adorable. It takes about three days before you can do a lot because of features being locked until you get to the right level. The turn dial is fine but I find it annoying to have to use it to get to the various menus to check on their health, etc. The size of the device is large which is fine for home play but not so much for putting in your pocket. The screen also scratches if you just LOOK at it the wrong way, it’s so delicate, so you really need a screen protector on it. The characters are adorable and it’s pretty easy to get the characters you want. They are very easy to take care of and I appreciate the babysitter function. It’s fun to mix characteristics like color and eye shape when breeding them. Overall I’m really enjoying it and the retail price point was just right. I think my favorite Tama is still the Uni, but this is definitely a fun variation.
