Very nice
Very nice, warm hat. A little tight for those of us with big noggins. The "Head seam" is a little pronounced giving it a bit of a "Cone Head" look but I think that will fade overtime. This hat is made of the thickest, densest wool cloth I have seen, hard to imagine a warmer natural fiber hat. The only thing that might improve it is if they made a silk lined version.

WOW!!
I have to admit I was a bit hesitant about the price, but when I put my hands on this, and put it on my head, I totally forgot about it! This guy is awesome! Very thick and extremely warm! First night I had it the temperature was 10 degrees outside and this hat was amazing! I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a warm, comfortable, excellent quality and nice looking winter hat! Made by a small family in Austria, and they do excellent work. Thank you for your talent. This is the last one I will ever have to buy. But if I ever need another one, this is what I’m getting. Really are nice looking and worthy of the compliments I have received. Thank you again! Get one. You will not be disappointed.

Warm, excellent.
The warmest hat out there period! Iv had them all there is a reason wool has been used for so many years, it works. Hat fit me perfect, not loose at all, just a little snug. The little snugness is perfect keeps the hat from wanting to push up like so many do. No itching for me. I have many wool gourmets they just last and work, and have never itched. For me it does stick up just a little on top, but barely and nothing I care about. Best hat out there for warmth!! Highly recommend!!

Warm As Heck
It’s a 4 ply wool hat. It doesn’t make you look like a cone head as others have said if you pull it all the way down. It’s the warmest hat I’ve ever owned. Since it’s wool if you’re out in the snow and it gets snow on it, once you go back inside take it off shake the snow off and viola! Your hat is bone dry. This hat is stylish to me. I was looking for a black wool hat with no logo. Three boxes ticked. It is thick. Almost comically so, but it’s a hat that is meant for serious weather. If thickness is a concern to you get the 3 ply version.Fit was an initial concern for me. I measured a different hat I had and the sizing matched up. I wear a 7 5/8 or somewhere between 60-61cm.The only two issues I could find are: it’s warm, you’ll not want to wear it inside, or after you’ve driven in a car w it on even though it’s cold out, if you have sunglasses w thick plastic arms the hat makes them awkward and they’ll slide forward if you put the sunglasses on after the hat.

SUPER NICE HAT
other reviews.....its too small, its too expensive, its too......SIMPLY RETURN FOR REFUND OR EXCHANGE...I am from the North, so I wanted a hat the wind didn't blow through. Also wanted something I could wear to work outside at -20F......This had supersedes all others. YES, exceptionally warm, hot in fact, even at extreme temps. DO NOT BUY if your winters are average. You better be in Arctic conditions to wear this well made hat. Northerners will be amazed at its quality, durability and warmth. YES its itchy if wool is itchy to you. For me, I can take it.....CONCLUSION: Nothing beats wool to keep you warm underneath. It is a hollow fiber and insulates when wet. Dachstein Wool is one step away from being felt, and it keeps the heat, in, and weather, out.A beautifully made hat for extreme low temperatures. Worth every penny!

Very warm, should last a lifetime
Much warmer than the synthetic stocking hats I have been forced to wear my entire life. The wind is not going to blow right through this hat!I would wear this one on a polar expedition, if I ever find myself going on one

DID I GET A FAT HAT? DON'T BUY UNLESS YOU HAVE A BIG HEAD!
IT COMES DOWN TO MY NOSE! OTHER BEANIE TYPE HATS I MUST ROLL UP A LITTLE, I ADMIT, BUT AS A WOMAN WHO IS OUT AT NIGHT EXERCISING DOGS, I HAD HIGH EXPECTATIONS GIVEN THE WEB DESCRIPTION, AND THE PRICE.NOT ONLY IS IT LAUGHABLY HUGE ON ME, BUT I DON'T SHAVE MY HEAD, AND IT ITCHES LIKE CRAZY.I WANTED TO LOVE IT.BACK IT GOES. OF COURSE AMAZON NOW WANTS TO CHARGE FOR UPS PICK UP, EVEN THOUGH I AM IN A RURAL AREA AND WILL USE MY EMISSIONS FOR A FREE RETURN (THEY REFUSED TO PICK UP A DEFECTIVE ITEM WITHOUT CHARGING $8.00. I CALLED CORPORATE. NOT COOL, AMAZON. YOU CAN FIX GLOBAL WARMING AND STILL PAY STOCKHOLDERS. I CAN'T.)SO NOT ONLY UNHAPPY WITH THE LACK OF AN ACCURATE WEB DESCRIPTION OF THIS HAT, BUT WITH AMAZON'S FOISTING RETURN COSTS BACK ONTO ME .

Best wool hat ever!
I own 5 wool hats. I often wear a very light weight merino wool cap by the company minus 33, but this hat, this is made for some serious artic conditions. It's a bit scratchy for some people I would imagine, but for me I have no issues. This is the very best wool cap for serious negative temperatures. I also would recommend their 4 ply mittens and super heavy socks. I wear polypropylene liners under the socks and often use OR shell mits over their wool ones.
