Works very well for me with RPi3, plug-n-play.
This is a neat, little device. I wasn't expecting it to integrate so easily into my RPi3 application. I plugged the thing in, and it showed-up as wlan1. No dickering-around with drivers or settings - no nothing! Love it. That's how things are supposed to work. No?My application is a Pi inside of one of the very attractive, metal FLIRC cases, which are prone to at least somewhat impact WIFI reception. The only difficulty I have experienced was in conjunction with a USB extension cable that I suspect of being defective or of substandard design. That is not the fault of this 7inova WIFI dongle. Not at all. When connected directly to the Pi, the improvement is just as advertised over the Pi's built-in WIFI. I am picking-up wireless with full bars, according to the icon on the Raspbian desktop - even in a steel-reinforced concrete basement whose rebar-laced walls normally shadow the device, in relation to the WIFI source and cause problems. I have not benchmarked for speed but, frankly, have no reason to do so. The thing just works. Wow.I may return to edit this review, once I've had a chance to take the Pi to its intended destination in an outdoor setting, for the purpose of reporting the physical range, just in case that would be instructive for any others considering this device for purchase...

So far, seems to be doing the job--- good for the money
This replaces an antenna type USB adapter that came with a micro sized Linux Mint box. The original antenna was slow to obtain a connection on my NetGear Wi-Fi. This problem got worse when NetGear updated their security a couple of weeks ago. In addition the original would drop connections every hour or two. I had bought this adapter to help a friend who had no wi-fi on an old Dell laptop that I'd moved over to Linux Mint. The 7inova connected quickly to wifi on his computer so I thought I'd give it a try to replace the original adapter. This unit takes from one to three minutes to get connected to the NetGear-- quicker than my original antenna, but still not great. Once connected, however, it stays connected. Throughput seems fine, regularly get 20-30 mb down. I have lots of other equipment hanging on this router, so I can't give it 5 stars, as every other device locks right on to the NetGear. I may switch from Linux Mint 17.03 to Ubuntu Mate 18.04 next April. Maybe that will improve things. There have been some comments that this adapter runs hot, but it seems fine to me. All in all, I like it, at least after the first 24 hours.Extremely fast delivery. Beat the Prime delivery date.

Works Great with Windows 10 and Linux Lubuntu
I installed Linux on a 10 year old laptop, but I could not get it to recognize the wireless card. I ordered this through Amazon and when it came I just plugged it into a USB port and it was recognized immediately. There was no need for drivers or terminal commands. After a little while I installed another version of Linux that did recognize the wireless card. As chance would have it, I also have a Windows 10 desktop that is about four years old that came without a wireless card. It could only access the Internet through Ethernet. So I unplugged the Ethernet cable and inserted this device and Windows 10 immediately recognized it. Great little device to have around the house.

Fantastic Wifi Adapter offering great speed.
One of the best investments. I purchased a fairly decent laptop but quickly realized the modem contained was slow and couldnt connect be to my WIFI faster than 23 GHz. After doing some research, I found out the laptop could not connect me to 5GHz band and only at 2.4 GHz. Having said that, I knew my old, old, old laptop could get through put of 31 GHz, so I purchased this Adapter. The great thing is it is now connecting me at approximately 31-40 GHz through put. Dont know if it will work for you but worked wonders for me. Love this product. Worth every penny!

Great product! Great price!
The wireless usb adapter showed up on time in my mailbox this afternoon. I bought a netgear n300 router for almost $40 to use on my UBUNTU tower! Needless to say, I jettisoned it and went to Amazon to buy this device because it supported Ubuntu. When I unpacked it, I plugged it into the tower. I powered it on, and the adapter came to life almost instantly! The white part glows blue. After I logged in, I immediately noticed thet it was already connected and I didn't need to do a thing. It has a decent connection to my DOCSIS 3.0 router. If this thing works on my raspberry PI, I will be ordering another one, and future ones as I convert friends old pc's to Linux!

Works great, much better than a nano adapter, plug-and-play with Ubuntu
I have a headless (no monitor) workstation in my house that I access remotely from a different computer. I was using one of those tiny "nano" wifi adapters in the workstation. It worked well most of the time but did suffer from some annoying stutters.I bought this larger wifi adapter with the screw-on antenna to see if it would clear up the stuttering problem. Boy did it. Not only is the stuttering gone but everything else is noticeably faster. I should have bought one of these a long time ago. This model is plug-and-play with Ubuntu 16.0.4, no need to worry about drivers or anything, which is a big plus. Highly recommended for any sort of stationary setup (i.e., not where the physical size of the adapter is of critical importance).

Works fine with RasPi "Jessie-Lite"
Worked out of the box with the Raspberry Pi "Jessie-Lite" distribution on a Pi Zero; linux geek details: lsusb showed "ID 148f:5372 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT5372 Wireless Adapter", it used the "rt2800usb" kernel module and 'rt2870.bin' firmware version 0.29. (No obvious identification on the device, the packaging sais "7[i]nova 7U300A".

This thing is trash
I know this thing is cheap, but it's still not worth the money. It constantly just bogs down and freezes up your internet connection. The only way to fix it is to reboot or unplug the adapter and plug it back in. It also doesn't come near the advertised speed, I have 125mbs cable internet and this thing claims it reaches speeds of 100mbs. I connected to my home network and was lucky if I got 25mbs, I tested this adapter on multiple devices and got the same results. I also tried different adapters on the same devices and got connection speeds that were where they should be. Simply put, this thing is trash.

Works with some linux.
Couldn't get it to work with Linux Mint 18.3 but I am not a programmer. Tried it with an old Kubuntu (Ubuntu 15) installation and it worked - plug and play. But data transfer was slow - an ethernet connection was four times faster. Possibly works fine with windows but didn't try it.

Waste of money.
My 5 year old laptop is running at 60mbs on its wifi card. My £4000 msi gaming pc with 8xi7 pentium processors is downloading at 50kbs using this adapter.Dial up was faster. This dongle/adapter is a joke and loses the connection every 2 minutes. Can't even play a YouTube video. It's not my internet, all other devices stream/download fine. It's not the computer as it's the dogs danglies. Do not buy unless you enjoy download speeds from 1996

Not recommended
Bought this because it was urgently needed same day and cheapest one on offer on prime. Its not great, must be using some centuries old wireless technology as my internet speed is 200mb and i only get 10mb with this. Worth half the price i paid for, no point returning it as i needed it for convienience and thats all i got as no quality exists with this product.
