I absolutely love this case and keyboard from ZAGG! It’s a bit on the heavier side, but that’s actually a plus — I know my iPad is always perfectly protected. The quality is great, made from solid, durable plastic. I did have a bit of trouble putting the case on at first, but aside from that, everything has been perfect. What I love most is how smoothly the keyboard works — it’s fast, responsive, and syncs perfectly with my movements. Typing feels effortless and super comfortable. And the USB-C cable is just perfect — I can charge my phone, iPad, and keyboard with the same charger. So convenient and practical. Honestly, such a great setup!

Very durable and long battery life in keyboard
My last Zagg Rugged case lasted me 6 years with NO problems and did a fantastic job of protecting my iPad. Also the battery in in the keyboard was able to go 3 months or so between charges and even after 6 years still holds a charge with NO problems. I got a new iPad and thankfully this style case is still available so I got another. Very well made and definitely worth the money. This case outlasted my old iPad.

Rugged and Versatile – ZAGG Rugged Book Keyboard & Case
I’ve been using the ZAGG Rugged Book Detachable Case with Magnetic-Hinged Keyboard for my iPad Air and it’s been a game-changer. The keyboard delivers a satisfying, laptop-style typing experience with backlit keys and multi-device Bluetooth pairing—perfect for switching between my iPad and phone. The case is built like a tank, offering military-grade drop protection up to 6.6 feet and a magnetic hinge that locks in multiple viewing modes (keyboard, video, book, and case mode). Setup was seamless—just pair via Bluetooth, and I was ready in under a minute. The lithium polymer battery lasts ridiculously long—I’ve gone weeks between charges

I Loved It Until I Didn’t. *CANNOT* recommend.
Editing my original review, which still can be found below. Updated Review: While I really loved this case originally, it stopped working within 6 months. I assumed it must be my fault or something because I had loved the first one I bought for over a year. Unfortunately, it was outside the warranty, so I bought another in March 2023. I mostly use my iPad to watch shows or read, but I used the keyboard once a month to take notes during a committee meetings as secretary. Yet, at the end of June 2023, it stopped working yet again. Both times, most of the keys have stopped registering. This time, caps lock is stuck “on” and I can’t even get the keyboard as a whole to turn off. Unfortunately… there’s only a month warranty on the product. So twice in less than a year I’m left hanging. I’ve emailed the company, but they responded that I’m outside of warranty. Despite originally loving this product, I cannot in good faith suggest a product that stops working within a few months. I think my next move is to order on the actual Zagg website as they have extensive warranties and have been amazing to work with in the past — they just can’t fulfill warranties on products bought by a 3rd party. ******************** Original Review: I use my iPad mini like a computer all the time. I originally had this keyboard on my first iPad mini, but after I got a new one, I thought I could go with one that didn't seem so hefty (read: I wanted a super cute pink one instead). Dear reader, let me tell you, that was a mistake. I finally decided after 2 years of hardly using my iPad that maybe if I had the same keyboard I had before that I would use it more. And I do! It is hefty, but in a sturdy kind of way not a too heavy kind of way. The iPad section easily pops off if I just want to have that without the keyboard. The keyboard's battery life lasts and lasts, and easily connects to the iPad. People are always asking me where I got it and are saying how cute my "tiny laptop" is. Plus, it's made doing my on-the-go writing way easier. My fingers fit perfectly to the keys and I type just as easily as I do my full sized laptop. Lastly, I no longer have to worry about being clumsy... I've dropped this thing a few times and it's protected.

Good keyboard and case, heavy and no pencil holder.
Good keyboard and fit as expected. Heavier than I anticipated and does not have dedicated pencil storage.

Awesome Customer Service, (Rain and Keyboards don't mix)
After looking over all the reviews I decided to purchase this product. It arrived on time and after unboxing the product the product looked to be of good quality. Fit my iPad nicely, connected via blue tooth quickly and worked perfectly, but this product doesn't have an indicator LED on the keyboard to let you know if its on or not and no indication to let you know the blue tooth is on or working... but after talking to customer service, he explained that the keyboard lights up and my contrast was all the way down. It also has a few different colors to choose from. Just after a week of owning this device I was out on my deck early one morning with my iPad, I went inside to get a cup of coffee and it started to rain heavily. By the time I got to my iPad (within a few seconds) the keyboard was soaking wet... I brought my iPad in and tilted it sideways into the sink to drain off the water and there was quite a bit of water in the keyboard. I tried to use keyboard and strange symbols came up. I removed the keyboard from my iPad and used a small shop-vac to suck out the remaining water and stored it in a large zip lock bag with rice and several silicon bags for several days to dry up the keyboard. After 5 days I connected the keyboard again with the iPad and turned it on and tried to connect to blue tooth. I took several tries to connect (error connection failed) and after several tries iPad finally connected to blue tooth. I tested out the keyboard again and some keys would not type and some keys typed funky symbols. I called customer service and explained what had happened and he said my Zagg has a 1 year warranty and they will replace it free of charge. He is shipping a brand new Zagg with a prepaid return label, he said that they will charge my CC until they get the damaged keyboard returned and will credit my CC. Awesome Customer Service....

Compact, tough and convenient
I bought this for my school iPad because the ambulance company I worked for had them and I love them. Lots of rubber around the whole thing for shock protection, I have a space for my Apple Pencil, keyboard is though enough to support the weight of the iPad so I don’t need a stand on the back and I can detach the keyboard to use with my computer. Very compact and handy little work station. Only problem I do have is the covers for the charging port and the headphone jack will lose integrity and fall off over time with regular use.
