I have been using the Flex Belt and Flex Mini for approximately 4-5 weeks now. I tried several other similar products side by side and the superiorty of the Flex belt Brand Products was astronomical. The construction of other products is quite flimsy or non anatomical, the power sources are not consistent and don't deliver the range and variety of power input that the Flex belt brand products do. Other products are not as form-fitting and comfortable, nor do they give you the sense of a real full muscle contraction with the possibility of a variety of workout selections that feel natural to the motions and contractions that normal exercise would produce. While wearing the flex belt and the Mini product for toning up the buttocks, I immediately noticed significant muscle contractions and extremely rapid initial results. The initial results primarily consisted of a true feeling of a very intensive workout, feeling the muscle soreness that one would feel a day after vigorous exercise. Over a week or two, I actually noticed when I put on an old pair of jeans for the first time, that I almost felt like Kim Kardashian for a minute. I was immediately struck by the incredible amount of toning I had achieved in my gluteal region, which was quite a surprise with the short amount of time that I had used the device, but also, I was surprised that gravity could be so easily overcome in such a short period of time. The teardrop sagging of my lower gluteal region was clearly lifted and there was an overall significant increase in the fullness of my buttock area. The flex belt in the abdominal region had significantly flattened my stomach and I could feel improve posture overall and just a generalized increase in core stability. I also had access to replacement pads that were sold buy a different merchant which were significantly inferior, not sticking to the Belt the way that they were supposed to and not delivering an even pulse of electricity and uniform contraction over the surface of the pad. In contrast, quite surprisingly, despite an addictive utilization of the Flex belt and Mini, I found the original brand name pads to be extremely durable and to last longer and through more exercise cycles than anticipated. I am extremely pleased with the quality and performance of the product and plan to continue to use them regularly to maintain and improve upon the results have already achieved.

I have been using this belt system and yes you can feel the squeezing / tightening effects on your abs. They use this electric pulse therapy in some fashion in rehab programs to fix muscle deficiencies. So it is a proven method. The thing is this. It is working on the abs UNDERNEATH your overlaying fat pad. It does nothing to get rid of an excess layer of fat obscuring those muscles worked on. So you use this in conjunction with a weight loss, fat burning workout to actually see the results. But if you choose to keep the extra fat layer over those muscles you will still have the benefits of an improved core for your everyday tasks. For instance the tighter / toned muscles may help those with back problems. To get the flex belt to actually work to do its job you do have to get the settings up to where you don't exactly feel comfortable. You need to feel more than just a tingling from the pulses, but the actual contractions upon you stomach. You need to really feel the squeezing. For me that was at least a setting of 80. But if you are new to this, don't do that. Start with just the tingling levels for you and build up to the squeezing part, otherwise the full sensation will feel too disturbing at the beginning. If after usage for a time, the belt function doesn't act normally to the higher settings and the connection between the remote and belt seem fine, then it is probably the gel pads which need replacing. For like if you see the belt emitting too frequent 'on and off' pulses. I think some of the negative reviews for that it doesn't work are from clearly overweight people who expect the belt to take care of the fat problem too. After this usage just push a finger onto through the stomach area to feel it harder than before. Finally this belt system may serve to motivate one to watch diet and undertake another exercise program to bring those toned abs into view. When I lost a bunch of weight with other exercise efforts after first toning with the flex belt for some time, wow I then saw the nice abs, previously hidden underneath. Hope this helps.

I have scoliosis and a lot of back pain. This means a lot of AB exercises will end up causing some back pain no matter how careful I am. So, I was REALLY hoping this thing would work and help me tone up my ABs muscles without back pain. Sadly, it does not. It is basically a non-medical grade TENS unit. I have 2 small TENS units for muscle pain and this belt feels about the same as those small TENS units. It just vibrates the skin and upper layer of flesh (fat). It does NOT cause the muscles to contract like they show in the ads. Those ads are ABSOLUTELY FALSE. I have cranked this thing up as high as I could stand it ..... to the mid 90s settings. The vibration is REALLY strong at that setting.... so much so that it actually hurts my skin/flesh, but it has NEVER caused my muscles to contract. My chiropractor had a TENS unit that did cause my muscles to contract so I assume that this belt is a not medical grade TENS unit, and does not travel far enough into the skin to reach the muscles. Simply vibrating your skin or fat WILL NOT tone your AB muscles underneath. I frequently turn the belt around and put the pads on my back to vibrate my back muscles, as it sometimes helps with the back pain. I would return this belt but my other portable TENS unit won't charge, so I may use this thing for back pain.

This belt is not inexpensive (Everything in the box is titled SLENDERTONE. Which also happens to be about $100 less if you buy that belt instead...Not sure if I didn't research enough, but from what i can see, a cheaper belt might not get all the glam and offer the same thing in the end), and it's true that it will not replace normal dieting and exercise. But it DOES stimulate your muscles while your moving around doing other things. I'm a single mommy, so my time is strictly 7-8 am mommy duties (maid, chef, nurse, best friend, disciplinarian, teacher, and chauffeur), 8-5 pm Administrative HR in front of a computer, then 5 to 8-9 pm is back to mommy duties (see pervious list). This belt adds some exercise to my lack of "me" time. Normally there is a weekend work out here and there but it's not enough to really make much of a difference. Dieting is hard and can be expensive to stay strict to, so adding something that I can feel the burn with while folding laundry is really awesome. It is not the most comforatble thing to get used to but I'm a scardy cat and have gotten it up to level 40 intensity in my first 2 trys of the belt. Cons: *The belt is very similar as a belt that is $100 cheaper, and has the same name on all the products inside the box. Wish I would have bought the other belt. *The middle "ab pad" that goes on your tummy doesn't let off any charges until you get the belt up in the 20 intensity levels. I thought mine was broken for the first try and was very upset, but choose to try it again before I sent it back. The hip pads worked great from level 1 and seem to be more intense through the entire experience. *The gels pads are a tacky gooey subtance, the residue and small chunks of the pad tend to stay behind when your done with this device, even with delicate care. *If you are large the pads might not fit where you need them to via the booklet (both hips/lovehandles, and tummy). I am 150lbs, 5'5", and wear a size 9-10 pant. My weight is well spread over me just not toned (which is my mission). The belt right now is at the max pad spacing that is offered, and it just bearly covers the electric nodes that the pads transmit to my body, while fitting in the right places. If you have a larger belly, the pads may only cover your stomach regardless of how stretchy the belt is. *This belt is not inexpensive (Everything in the box is titled SLENDERTONE. Which also happens to be about $100 less if you buy that belt instead...Not sure if I didn't research enough, but from what i can see, a cheaper belt might not get all the glam and offer the same thing in the end), and it's true that it will not replace normal dieting and exercise. *The pads are expensive. Pros: *It DOES stimulate your muscles while your moving around doing other things. Not having enough "me time" to hold a steady gym trip or exersize video, this belt makes me feel like I'm doing right by my body while I work. *The belt can be used by larger ppl as it has an extension piece (I don't need it but I'm sure this is a bonus to some). *This belt is well made and stays where you put it. * There is no noise invloved and no shocking effect to other people or items while using it. This is a plus so I can move and interact with my daughter while exercising. Or watch a movie and not disturb anyone else. *The remote has a timer. So pick your level and let it go for the program you choose. It will beep when it is finished to let you know you have reached the end of the session. The programs are different time intervals and intensitys to mix your workout up a bit for your muscles. *The remote that is used for this belt can be used with the other products (I think there are arm belts, and butt/thigh belts as well), not having to by all the hardware again might cut the price a bit. I hope I was helpful to anyone looking into this product. I don't think I'll be returning the belt. And since I can use it everyday without haulting life, I have no excuses for not taking 5 minutes to throw it on for 20-40 mins a day. You can really start to feel the burn and muscle exhaustion after you get in the 30's, and it goes up to 150. I'm sure I won't get to that level but it's definately an added part of my toning process now! I'll wait and see what this belt can do for my tummy, and I might get the butt/thigh belt next if in a few months I notice a difference.
