I spent the better part of a day reading the entire operators manual and going through familiarization with the hundreds of features on this dive watch. The customization options are practically endless but the watch is still relatively easy to set up and simple to use during dives. Display visibility underwater is second to none but they do warn of screen burn in with AMOLED displays so I would recommend keeping settings away from always on modes for anything other than a dive. Definitely pricey but if taken care of, I can see this being the last dive watch I will ever need! If you pair it with a SWFT transmitter, I recommend a small extension HP hose off your reg to help keep connection between devices. I have six dives so far with this set up and I never lost connection once. If you do decide to add one, you'll have to pick up a HP air spool to connect them as Shearwater does not include one with their transmitters. HOG and XS scuba both have cheap air spool options on Amazon that work with it. If you splurge on one piece of dive kit, I would make it this Teric. I don't regret this buy!

Shearwater has made the best computers out there for a while now, and this thing has all the features of the Perdix that I see basically every tech diver around here wearing two of, in a small and much more attractive package. At about the size of a large men's watch it's even fine to wear around when not diving. I only dive recreationally so this is super overkill in terms of functionality with the tech and closed circuit modes that I will never touch, but it's still very intuitive and easy to setup and use. As an added bonus it works with any transmitter marked with "FCC ID M8HA". This includes many of the transmitters from various other manufacturers over the last 20 years, including my 2003 vintage Aeris transmitter. So if you've already got a transmitter from your old computer chances are good that you won't need to drop $400-500 on a new one (though Shearwater will sell you one of theirs if you need it). The Garmin Descent on the other hand uses a proprietary transmitter that you have to buy, and which also emits high pitched beeps. One of many reasons I went with the Teric instead.

I will only buy and dive Shearwater made dive computers at this point. So much happier using a Teric over all of my old Suunto's. Recently my wife's Suunto locked her out for 48 hours due to battery running out on the hang line. Shearwater won't do that to you. Back to the Teric: it's so easy for my old eyes to read at depth and it's very easy to use as you can set the color and font size you want. I feel the Teric is the easiest on the eyes of all current dive computers on the market. No batteries to replace, just place in the charger as needed. I have done over 10 long dives on one charge.

This is an amazingly easy dive watch to use. I'm new to diving and was very hesitant to purchase this, I'm now ordering an AI to attach and I'm looking forward to the integration. Being a new diver the learning curve is steep for me, but it's very intuitive and simple to understand the options available. I personally would recommend this item, it looks amazing and I'm now wearing it everyday (I have the bronze color).

If you are looking at this watch you probably dive, and really don’t need much information about Shearwater’s dive features. I purchased this watch as my primary dive computer. It works great. DECO timer and the OLED screen were very useful. Worked with NITROX as well. I really like the screen and that its customizable. Only issue for me is that the battery runs down even on the charging stand if you don’t use/wear it daily. I wish there was a “daily wear setting” so you can just wear it as a thick watch without the battery drain. I bought this new and just don’t like that my battery is at less than 50% after wearing it for the day.
