Choc Zero is now my go-to chocolate brand. Sweetened with Monk Fruit and not sugar or an artificial sweetener (can fool the body into thinking it's sugar) is a plus for those with high A1C values, i.e., pre-Diabetic, because it doesn't cause a spike in blood sugar levels (AI: "...monk fruit is a good alternative for diabetics because it is a calorie-free sweetener with a zero glycemic index that does not spike blood sugar levels."). And, to me, the chocolate tastes fantastic. My favorites are the dark chocolate peppermint crunch and the white chocolate almond. If you're on a special diet, whether for weight or health, be sure to check the ingredients before ordering since the total carbs -- another important factor for pre-Diabetes -- potassium (salt), calories, etc., are different between each type of chocolate or other Choc Zero items ordered. Also, each chocolate is individually and nicely wrapped inside the thin box. I allow myself one or two individual Choc Zero chocolates every couple of days for my sweet tooth fix. Just bear in mind that these items aren't cheap -- a four-pack usually runs $21.00 -- so, buy and enjoy in moderation.

I lived in France for a year when I was younger, and enjoyed a white chocolate candy bar with coconut in it. This is the closest I have come to duplicating the experience, and the fact that it had almonds instead of coconut--and was sugar free on top of that--did not detract at all. This was a winner. It's expensive, but as an occasional treat, really worth it. It's creamy and smooth, and though I bought it to use in a recipe, I found myself eating more than I probably should have, because the quality made it quite addictive. I also liked that the bars were generously sized, and divided into individually wrapped squares. When I melted it for my recipe, it melted easily and was smooth and appealing--though I did tend to snitch small pieces to eat. It was just so good!
