A beautiful book, and a beautiful love story to this day
Absolutely stunning bookcase and hardcover design- it's truly mesmerizing, and the gold leaf and spray painted pages are such a beautiful touch. Twilight is my absolute favorite YA series from when I was a kid, and I reread it every year when fall hits to really get into the fall PNW vibes since I grew up in Oregon and Washington my whole young adult life and it made me fall in even more love with the novel as I somewhat pretended to be Bella as a 14 year old girl and would walk through the forest and dream of meeting my Edward. This series is absolute peak teen angst, gothic romance, with a touch of action and horror that really brings it all into a beautiful story about true love and soulmates that are destined to be together despite their circumstances. Reading this series genuinely brings me so much joy and comfort, and Bella's character in the book series is smart, funny, sarcastic, witty, and genuinely charming. She's someone I definitely modeled myself after growing up- which may not be the best thing when it comes to my attachment to romantic relationships, but overall I do love Bella's character and her resilience, strength, determination, loyalty, and depth. I truly think this is one of the better YA novels and there's a reason why it was a cultural phenomenon in the 2010's and it's because it's a genuinely good story. The writing isn't always the best, and yes it can be a bit cringe at times- but for those who enjoy it, they'll enjoy it for a lifetime.
