brilliant
Best Amazon purchase I've ever made. Simple, straight and to the point. Goes into a 1.5" drain, tub or sink, stays put, strains out hair, allows the water to drain. You don't have to pull it out to clean it, you just reach down and wipe off the hair it's collected. It fits neatly and looks good, no risk of it sliding down the drain or anything like that. It's awesome, cheap and effective. I waste so much money on junk that doesn't work, that's over-designed and over-built for the simple job it's supposed to do, hate it. But this little strainer isn't like that. It's all you need. Seems to be good quality, I think it will last a long, long time. I wish everything on Amazon was this simple, cheap and useful.

Fits well, stays put
Not much to say about this, but it fits well, stays put I’m the drain and still no problems after all this time.

Fit a tub from the mid 70's
The drain in my late 1970's tub, had the cap that hold the screw break, was using one of those orange hair pullers, and it caught the cross bars, since then the strainer moved around the tub as it pleased. Not wanting to replace a non leaking drain fixture, did my measurements, and got this item. At first it danced around, and would pivot into the drain, it did not actually go in. as i was doing another repair at the time (lever replacement), I added some water to the tub (testing the lever), and to my surprise it helped the strainer stay flat, so i could maneuver it and apply the pressure to pop it into place. Fits perfectly, no anchor/screw needed. only tools needed were my fingers. (and maybe a little water)

Needs to be a smidgen bigger circumference-wise
I have a standard bathtub with a standard pipe. I want this to catch hair when I shower because it is disgusting to use the mushroom devices to drag out hair the fell in the pipe, along w other gunk. If this was just 1/8 of an inch bigger, it would fit perfectly. I was able to bend the legs outwards so it stabilizes just over the hole. It’s not the best situation b/c sometimes it sinks into the pipe or tilts and I have to pull it out or level it, but it works.

Works..sort of
Just 1/16 of an inch or so too small..had to pry out the metal tabs to get it to stay put in the drain.

Basic strainer insert is the best
After wasting my time buying all kinds of different drain strainers I finally came down to buying this simple drain insert. Works like a charm with a flat round drain cover that acts like the plug. Sometimes simple / basic is best. All the fancy stuff looks great but usually doesn't deliver.

Perfect fit for our bathtub drain.
When we moved in, the original bathtub drain cover was gone and it was replaced with a flimsy aluminum one that sits on top of the drain and is supposed to be held in place by 2 little metal prongs. The problem is that it never stayed in place and once the kiddo realized she could pick it up, it's all she wanted to play with during bath time. I wanted to replace it with one that screws in like originally would have come with the tub, but the screw hole inside the drain was rusted out. When I started looking at my options, I definitely wanted to steer clear of the kind that sit on top of the drain, because I don't want the kid playing with it or trying to pull it out. I saw this snap in style and decided that was the way to go. I measured the inner diameter of my drain and this one was the exact same size. I got it, snapped it right in place, and it's the perfect fit. It fits snug with no gaps and can't be easily removed without a screw driver or something to pop it out. Couldn't have been any easier.

I love the price and ease of use but the little prongs are flimsy and a few have broken off in only a few weeks. Now it is loose in the drain.
