Works as it says , note will still have weeds , that is grown on ground befour putting down Barricade.

It does really cut down on the germination of crab grass. Maybe better than anything I have tried befoire. But it is very expensive if you have a large lawn, because on the recomended setting (finally arrived at after visiting many other web sites about my spreader and its equivalents) it covered about 1/2 what the bag said. The directions are clearly for lawn professionals that have top of the line spreader brands costing hundreds of dollars. Not so muuch for homeowners. I think I'll look at alternatives again next year because I can't see spending the money for two or three bags of this product at the price charged and the area covered.

I have used this for 2 years. Very effective. Much better than Preen. I don't like mulch because it is expensive, has to be replaced about every two years, and moves into my lawn when it rains. In the places I placed it two years ago, still no weeds except the occasional dandilion or other big weed variety. I did not reapply this year in several places without any weeds so I'll see what the Spring season brings. I'll try to remember to update the review. Great product!
