Spears PVC Gate Valve, Non-Rising Stem, Viton O-Ring, 1" Socket

I got lucky finding the price I did on this item. These can be very expensive. These valves are near flawless though compared to some budget gate valves you might have to replace eventually. Save your time and money buy a good one from the start.

The PVC gate valve replaces an older Spears product. It is a quality product and is used to control water flow to my back yard; another Spears gate valve controls water flow to my front yard. I water each yard independently; using two valves allows maximum water flow to be directed to each yard for maximum coverage. Very happy with this product.

Overall the valve works well for my application. I'm using it on the drain line for an aquarium, so not a pressure application. That said, it works nearly perfect for what I needed it for. My only complaint is that the valve does not turn nearly as easy as I expected. It isn't bad and it is getting easier to turn the more it is used, however I felt that was important to note. Still much better than trying to use a ball valve!

Smooth and great fine tuning. I'm using this for a full siphon overflow in my aquarium and fine tuning is a must. Ball valves couldn't cut it. But this worked perfectly.
