Not recommended for throwing
Was going to use this as a spare thrower. Broke right at the base of the axe head after 2 good throws.

Fine light duty axe for the money.
I removed the rubber handle butt cap and threw it out. Then sanded the handle until it was smooth and applied linseed oil. Still working on the linseed oil (once a day for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year). I did spend quite a bit of time putting an edge on with a stone, but now I have a sweet, good looking axe which I will keep in the car trunk so it's always handy. Spend some time and elbow grease and you'll have a very nice hatchet/axe for the money; after all it is very affordable.
