Pretty darn good.
Strong, smooth, flat, didn't sag with a 2 1/2 HP router motor, magnets to level the edges work okay. Easy to drill holes for a custom router fit. Underside is marked well to center the router prior to drilling.Already has separate holes at the corners to allow Kreg router plate adjusters to attach and I recommend them. With there were more than two inserts available because you cannot get them anywhere for this plate but three opening sizes work for most needs. Overall a good value. Look forward to reviewing more MLCS products in the future.

It's good to have a cheap undrilled option, but it's not flat enough.
I chose this table insert because I have an older Ryobi router which isn't supported by most aftermarket inserts, and didn't want to worry about extra unused holes in the final plate.Drilling the hole pattern to mount the router was no problem, but if you pick this up watch for tearout in the brittle phenolic. I hot glued my router's original shoe to the bottom of the insert and drilled away, and that worked fine. One of the height adjust holes already present in the plate ended up being in the right place for my pattern, but that may not be true for you.The real issue with this thing is that it's out of flat, sunken in the middle, by 3/32". That's a big deal if you're using your router to put a roundover/chamfer on a part, or if you're cutting a dado with an important specific depth. In both cases you'll get deviation with this plate if the one you get is anything like the one I got.One final thing is that the surface of the insert is not durable- it's raw phenolic exposed to the sliding of your workpiece. After a short period of use with my insert, there is a visible wear pattern. That would be easily remedied with wear control coating or tape, but you could also just get an aluminum insert.

Far better than a hole in a table
I've been using a table mounted router for years, but this is the first router plate I've used. Overall, it is a great addition to my shop. I can easily lift the router out of the table to change bits and the two removable concentric rings adjust the opening for various sizes up to about a 3 1/2" opening for raised panel bits. The shortcomings are minor. The Allen screws for leveling the plate vibrate out of adjustment easily. I think a little Teflon tape or the right kind of Locktite will solve that problem. The concentric rings snap into the plate, but they are not snug and vibrate a little. I sometimes have to be sure I set the work piece down on the edge of the outer ring before running the piece through the bit. Not a real problem though. The plate was half the price of some that I found on line. (Since purchasing this plate, I found that Harbor Freight sells what appears to be the same product for somewhat less cost.)

This device makes router adjustment a breeze.
I had one of these on another router table which was an extension to my table saw. I no longer have that saw and needed to make a portable router table top to fit on my Workmate. This insert allows me to lift the router out of the table top for adjustment.

Router mount
Excellent. finally got to use both of them. These would be my choice, for the simple fact of moving from bits size small to large. It keeps your material on track, no matter how big or small your bit is. Select a size. Thank You

Poor quality and is not a flat plate
I made the mistake of not reading the reviews on this, so I hope you don't do the same. This thing is junk. It's 1/16" deeper in the center than it is on the edges, so it's not a flat surface, which is sort of important if you expect your router cuts to be accurate. If you're looking for a soup bowl, this might do nicely, but if you actually want a router plate, go spend $20 more to buy an aluminum one, and be done with it. At least it will save you the hassle of having to return this thing. In addition to not being flat, the circular cutouts have jagged edges that need to be sanded if you want to get them back into place after having removed them. I think the reason this this is so inexpensive is because they saved money in manufacturing by using a pack of rats nibbling on the plastic to make their cuts instead of a saw, 3d printer, or C&C machine.

Useless features, ok plate
The plate has decent thickness and appears to be rigid enough to hold my router. As others mentioned, most other features are useless. Leveling screws are tiny and very loose, I won't use them. The supplied pin (to be inserted in holes in plate to "rest" work piece against) is useless as well, as three of the four holes in the plate are too big, making the pin wiggly, and the fourth hole is too small. You don't want a loose steel pin that can jump out any time right next to a router bit spinning at high RPM. Seems a recipe for disaster.Plate and inserts look ok, though the larger insert is so big that I am not sure I can fit the three mounting holes for my (Hitachi) router in the plate.$34 seems too much. I'd be happy at $15.Update: drilled holes for Hitachi router, works fine. But it looks like router is too heavy for this plastic plate, see picture.Update II: I accidentally dropped my router with attached plate from my workbench. Plate safed my router, but broke in two. That gave me the opportunity to look at other options. Found the Rousseau plate, which is pretty much a drop-in replacement. It is cheaper, better quality and has useful features (it's probably the original). Much better. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00002242B?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
