Filofax A4 Refillable Notebook - Red

I purchased the Blue version of the A4 Refillable Notebook with two extra sets of paper - A4 squared and A4 plain. It is a lovely notebook with high quality 100gsm paper. Mine came with the advertised 56 sheets of A4 ruled paper (that's 56 actual sheets of paper - 112 sides in total) plus 4 each of A4 plain paper and A4 squared paper (obviously added to give purchasers a look at the other sorts of paper that can be added to the notebook). The additional packs of A4 paper are also 100gsm and contain 32 sheets each (64 sides in total per pack) available in lined, plain and squared. Inside the notebook there are four dividers to allow you to organise your notes with one of the dividers having a pocket into which you can add miscellaneous bits of paper, as well as a flexible ruler. All in all a very nice notebook but still a notebook with some flaws that make it less than perfect. Firstly, you can fold the front cover all the way around to the back of the notebook and this is very useful. However, the paper itself will not fold all the way around to the back because of the way it is attached to the binding. So folding the front cover all the way around to the back only works if you're writing on the top sheet of paper - if you want to write on the second or subsequent sheets you either have to remove the sheets you're already written on or fold them as best you can knowing that they will probably detach from the wire binding (they will) - that's problem 1. The 2nd problem is if you're taking notes and you want to archive them you'll probably end up storing them in an A4 ring binder and to do so you'll need to punch holes in the paper (this is now what I am doing). Note that the notebook binding is quite thin (i.e., the notebook depth is small) so those 56 sheets of paper it comes with are pretty much the maximum amount you can put in it - so you will end up filling it quickly and then needing to decide what to do with the notes you take out as you add more blank ones. So … conclusion … a very nice notebook, very well made, lovely to look at and excellent quality paper but with some "features" that make using it less than practical.

I bought this in the aqua colour and love it. The pages will fall out if you overfill it to start with, especially if you bend the spine and turn. I just took out half the pages and once the cover has been used a few more times the pages turn well and you can add more in. The only slight criticism I have is that it is unlikely to hold more than the pages it originally comes with, there is no room for adding extras, so don't be too quick to buy the refill which I did as you are only going to need refill pages as you discard the others.

Love, love, love!I’ve got the mini & the A5 sizes of this range so knew I’d love this one too. And it doesn’t disappoint.I love that you can fold the front cover back and rest it flat on your desk or table.The paper quality is excellent. I use gel pens & they don’t bleed or show through on the reverse side.The tabs make organising my notes a breeze & being able to move pages between sections means my notebook is neat & easy to use.I just wish they’d come up with the coloured papers & other designs they have for the other sizes.Bottom line - have just ordered one for my son! Yes, I’ll be buying more in the future.

I love these notebooks-its so wonderful being able to move pages of notes and organise my thoughts. These are probably a bit more expensive than I would normally pay for a notebook, but for the ability to organise my notes freely I feel its worth the extra pennies.

It looks really good and the paper quality is brilliant, unfortunately the paper comes away too easily to give this any more than two stars. Even as a desk only notebook the paper cones away from the binder too easily. Sorry Filofax but this needs more work

Great quality notebook. I like the fact it's ring bound so you can switch the page order around if you need to. The paper is nice and thick and the cover is sturdy and looks smart. Will definitely be buying more in future.

I just love these - so much do I now have 4!!! All for different purposes - being able to move pages and have section dividers really works for me - and they look professional

This product is exactly what I want but for the price I was surprised to see that it had already been used when it arrived and although it is fine and usable its not new! I would not expect this of Amazon so I have given it lower stars than I would have had it been new as stated in the listing.
