A much-anticipated companion to the popular book on how to understand, manage, and conquer your stress. Brimming with exercises, worksheets, tips, and tools, this how-to workbook is the much-anticipated companion to Wehrenberg’s popular The 10 Best-Ever Anxiety Management Techniques. Expanding on those top 10 anxiety-busting techniques, the workbook demonstrates exactly how to put them to work to understand, manage, and conquer your stress. From panic disorders, generalized anxiety, and social anxiety, to everyday worry and stress, manifestations of anxiety are among the most common and pervasive mental health complaints. Whether you suffer from sweaty palms during a work presentation, persistent rumination, or even agoraphobia, anxiety can be debilitating. But thanks to a flood of supporting brain research, effective, practical strategies have emerged that allow us to manage day-to-day anxiety on our own. In this workbook, Wehrenberg walks us through a valuable collection of them, showing just how physical, emotional, and behavioral symptoms can be alleviated with targeted training. Step-by-step exercises on developing and implementing counter-cognitions, mindfulness meditation, thought-stopping and thought-replacement, “breathing minutes,” demand delays, cued relaxation, affirmations, and much more are presented―all guaranteed to soothe your anxious thoughts. The accompanying audio CD features an array of calming, author-guided exercises including targeted breath work, muscle relaxation, mindfulness, and much more. Dr. Wehrenberg has done the work to create the right learning environment and organize the needed tools. Follow her lead and your body and mind will thank you with the peace and quiet you deserve.” ―Reid Wilson, PhD, Author of Don't Panic: Taking Control of Anxiety Attacks “[A] well-researched book with clearly-written brain science for the non-scientist. I decided to order another for a client who was moving away and noticed Dr. Wehrenberg had this new workbook as well. I ordered it and absolutely love, love, love it! I did not know a CD of her narrating the relaxation techniques was included in the back of the book and it is extremely helpful. I use this with my clients all the time and since I am learning these techniques right along with my client I end up relaxed as well. In one particular session I had that experience of knowing I fell asleep for a second! I woke with a start and knew then that these techniques are as powerful as promised. I found this book very helpful with easy everyday techniques that are available help manage stress and anxiety. Discussions of where stress comes from and how it affects your body were logical and well researched. I found each chapter useful and building upon the prior ones. Worth the time and money.

Best book on anxiety I’ve come across
By far one of the best books I’ve come across to explain and understand anxiety and it’s treatment. I’ve found myself recommending this book so many times to other counsellors as a resource. It is empowering and also very easy to understand.

Not terrible
The workbook isn't nearly as helpful as the book. I didn't know this we. I purchased it. Overall helpful but tedious.

I'm not so sure I like the workbook all that much.
So many parts of it seem not to apply to me, or to the other people I am working with on anxiety issues. I was hoping for more activities or exercises that truly involved and engaged people. It's mostly just a lot of tests or writing exercises. The CD is pretty good though, at least the parts I have listened to so far.
