Honest review after 7 nights from a side sleep with small ears and small ear canals.
Full disclosure - I have smaller ears and canals, and I am a side sleeper and I have been using these for the last 7 days. I am moving to a new town and decided to rent an apartment for a year to help me decide where to buy a house. Well, the apartment walls and floors are not well insulated. I hear footsteps, creaking floors, snoring through the wall, and sometimes can hear the tv shows they watch. Needless to say, I was having serious trouble sleeping. I could fall asleep pretty well (go to bed early), but I would be awakened at some point, or several points, in the night by all these noises, banging, walking, creaking, and snoring and was not able to get back to sleep. I needed something to help. I tried Mack's foam ear plugs. They work pretty good for noise reduction, but my ears would hurt and throb making my sleep difficult in that way. I even had the small ears size. They were comfortable to side sleep with. I bought some fake Loop alternatives as just ear plugs. They were comfortable, did not throb like the Mack's in my ears, but did not block out enough sound. When I tried a bigger ear plug piece, I found the throbbing ear syndrome again. These were comfortable to side sleep with though. I then bought a cheap knock off brand of "sleep buds". They were the most comfortable thus far. They would bluetooth to my phone so I could play either music or some white noise from my phone. They claimed to have ANC. They were helpful to block out some sound because of the ear fit, and because they could bluetooth to my phone for music or white noise. However, with the ANC on or off, I did not detect any difference in sound reduction. These were kidney bean shaped sleep buds and did not stick out much from my ear. The ear plug piece was comfortable, but the harder plastic part would start to be annoying after a few hours when on my side. They were ok. Sound quality was decent. Maybe a C+ for an overall grade for these. However, they didn't stop all the sounds and I still woke up occasionally. I hesitantly tried the A30's. This is no small investment! With the rubbery ear plug piece and ear fin, these buds were comfortable. While on my side, they have been the most comfortable thus far. I can sleep well with them in actually. I still have a little bit of pressure while on my side, but some nifty pillow management helped relieve the pressure. I am using the attachments they came with out of the box. I really like the white noise sounds. I have Still Lake as my favorite. It is a sutble sound that helps my brain drift off. With the fit of the A30 alone, I can block out most of the noise for the night with these standard size pieces without using ANC. Last night, I had both my wife snoring and banging on the ceiling above. (To be honest, my wife's snoring is not super loud but enough to wake me up). Then I realized I didn't have the ANC on. Well, i turned the ANC on and WOW what a difference. It was almost like I had over the ear headphones with ANC on. All that noise disappeared. I was very impressed, at least I recall being impressed. I was asleep!! The sound quality is perfect for night time sleeping. In reading other reviews, I agree that these are not your everyday all day ear buds, they are really designed for sleeping only. The ANC works really well and I noted quite a difference between on and off. Last night I set them to use ANC until I was alseep and then go to local mode. After 8 hours, I still had 30% of the battery left in each ear bud. So far, the battery life has been great. I have yet to spend a whole night with bluetooth and ANC on, however. I haven't needed to. I know at $200 it seems like a lot to spend for ear buds that you only use for sleep and that aren't designed for super high quality audio sounds. However, this week has been the best sleep week I've had in two months since those neighbors upstairs moved in. You do need several nights to get used to the fit and feel. Not because they are uncomfortable, but because when something new is in your ear and you aren't used to it, it can feel funny and weird which may keep you awake instead of helping you sleep. But, give it a few nights, and if you are like me, they get more comfortable the more you wear them. I can sleep on my side with these but I need a soft pillow. A really firm pillow would hurt my ears after a few hours, as it would everyone else with anything in their ear. Everyone is a different size and shape, but I have found these A30's to be comfortable, and of high quality. The app is full of options to help customize the experience, and they do what they claim they will do. After this week, my wife (who is very thrifty) is asking if she can try these out and maybe get a pair because she notices such a difference in my morning wakefulness. Hope this helps those of you out there like me needed something to help get your sleep back. I would definitely buy again and am grateful for this product.

Outstanding, but make sure you buy the SPECIAL ones
The A30 SPECIAL earbuds (the purple and white ones only) are my holy grail for masking chainsaw snoring as a side sleeper. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE LISTING TO MAKE SURE YOU GET THE PRODUCT YOU WANT. I highly recommend the A30 Special over the A30 original--I have now tried both since I ordered the original accidentally the first time around. Anker support was phenomenal in helping me exchange to get the ones I wanted. I sleep (or try to) next to a very loud snorer. I had tried four other types of sleep headphones, but they were uncomfortable and I could still hear the snoring. I used to have a pair of the Bose sleephones, but they eventually kicked the bucket and couldn't be replaced. The Anker A30 Special earbuds are SO comfortable as a side sleeper. Within the box, there are several size options for both the tips and the wings so that you can customize a perfect fit. I don't even notice them anymore, and they stay in my ears all night. The ANC on the A30 Special is very good. Before I got the Special, I was sleeping with the A30 regular (ANC on) + over-ear headphones with ANC on, which was the only thing that let me sleep. The A30 special pretty much gets to that level of noise cancelling on its own. The snore masking audio options are really nice. I love the completely customizable white noise options too. I do not love the included meditations and sleep stories, BUT! You do not need to only use the in-app noises to get the main benefit of these headphones! The headphones detect when you fall asleep and then switch to local mode with ANC off to save battery. This works really well for me. I set up my sleep preferences for the night in the app, start my sleep, then go to Spotify to listen to my own sleep podcasts and music with ANC on. At some point after I'm already asleep, the headphones switch to be in local mode w/snore-masking audio and ANC off to save battery. In the several weeks that I have been using the A30 Special, the timing on that has worked every night. I have never once been woken up by snoring, and I've never had it switch to local mode too early. Sometimes I wake up for other reasons throughout the night, and often I can fall back asleep even without ANC on. But if I need it on again, it's easy enough to restart my sleep in the app to get that benefit again. The battery life on the A30 special is great. They have lasted through the night every night so far, with using the settings that turn the ANC off after I'm asleep. The plain A30 did not last through the night on weekends when I slept more than 7 hours. Beyond their functional abilities, they even FEEL luxurious--I love the glide of the case and the snap of the earbuds as I put them back. Even better than the Bose Sleephones were. Finally, the support team at Anker is so helpful and resolved my issue right away. They very generously let me keep the A30 originals while the A30 specials shipped to me, so that I could still sleep in the meantime. I have full confidence that they stand behind their product and will help if I encounter any other issues. Overall, I can't recommend the A30 SPECIAL earbuds enough. They are 100% worth the price, and have given me my sleep back. Also, shoutout to the Get Sleepy podcast for being the best sleep stories out there!

Overpriced and underfunctional
These are non-functional for their intended purpose unless you require very little sleep. First, the volume level of these speakers seems very low by default. Compared to my other earbuds (an older set of Space A40s and a set of Bose QuietComfort 2024 earbuds that I tried), these required a much higher volume level across all types of listening scenarios. The volume issue is relevant because it affects the earbuds' noise masking/cancelling capabilities as well as how much battery life you can expect from one full charge. I wanted earbuds that I could use with ANC on for at least 6+ hours to block my partner's snoring. I also wanted to be able to stream ambient sounds/music/white noise over bluetooth the whole night as a sleep aid. (I tried the built-in noise masking options, including the option to customize your masking sound, and disliked how low-quality and harsh they all sounded.) These earbuds only last 6.5 hours max when brand new in my preferred mode of use. I need more sleep than 6.5 hours most nights, and because lithium ion batteries degrade, these buds would only be even partially functional as a sleep aid for me for a few months, if that. These buds thus seem like a poor value for the money for how I want to use them. The A30s also seem overpriced, even by Anker's standards, because they just announced an upgraded version of these buds (advertised to have a longer battery life than these regular A30s) that will be sold for $20 less than the launch price and advertised MSRP of the original A30s. I also strongly dislike the shoehorning of AI bloat in the updated soundcore app. The "brainwave audio" tracks are all quite annoying/distracting, imo, and it looks like Anker generated a bunch of non-cohesive AI slop images to accompany the sleep tips portion of the app. Sucks that Anker would rather generate cheap visual soup than hire designers or artists who could create cohesive and relevant art. The transition from bluetooth audio to the noise masking sound in local audio mode, which can be triggered when sleep is detected to preserve battery life, was abrupt enough (due to how much louder the the noise-masking sound with no ANC seemed compared to the volume of bluetooth audio + ANC) that it woke me from sleep several times, which was also pretty annoying. I don't care about or even really trust the accuracy of the sleep tracking features in the soundcore app/these earbuds, so I didn't test or even set up that part of the app. As far as positives go, the buds really are small and lightweight. I struggled to find a good combination of ear tips and wings that would lead to a secure, noise-blocking fit in each ear, but that's not unusual for me. The silicone material seemed nice enough, and I liked the sliding case lid. Overall, I cannot recommend the Sleep A30s as a sleep aid. The set I tried is being returned due to the short battery life when brand new and the lack of good app features or built-in noise masking sounds.

I'm Really Torn - But Very Good Support
I have had these for two weeks so far. There are some really good and really poor aspects to these earbuds. The Good: 1. They are extremely comfortable. I am a side sleeper and, for me, they fit very well and are comfortable throughout the night. 2. The sound quality is excellent. In binaural sleep mode, the sounds are crystal clear and it feels like the sound is floating through my head. Very relaxing. 3. The collection of sounds is excellent, and the alarm feature works really well. Brainwave and white noise work exceptionally well and sound great. The Bad: 1. ANC is essentially nonexistent. If you are used to Bose QC or even Apple, you will be sorely disappointed. When I switch the ANC on and off, I literally hear no difference. In the notes, they say if ANC is not working to jam the buds deeper in your ears or use the foam earbuds. This is literally PNC, not ANC. Don't advertise ANC if you can't provide it. 2. The snore feature is only OK. It should sense snoring and turn up the volume of the saved sounds. I really notice no difference whatsoever if there is ambient noise or not. 3. Charging on the buds is hit or miss. More specifically, the charging on the right bud is hit or miss. When you insert the buds into the case, the lights behind each of them start pulsing. This should indicate that the buds connected and have started charging. While my left bud charges to 100% every time, my right bud either does not charge at all or only charges to 80%. To be clear, the light behind the right bud is pulsing but charging is not happening correctly. I have cleaned the contacts and have checked connection. It seems the pulsing lights are for entertainment only and don't really show charging status. Net, while this has a lot of promise, it has frustrating issues that make its overall value very questionable. UPDATE 1/3/26: After seeing my review, Anker contacted me to discuss the issue and offered a replacement. The interaction with support was very good and I give them a lot of credit for standing by their item. Although the ANC is still weak, the replacement corrected the issues with partially charged earbud and the snore feature seems to work better. I have many Anker items but this is the 1st time I have dealt with their support. A great experience overall. I have updated from 3 stars to 4. I'm still discounting a star for the ANC but look forward to improvements in the next version.

Made my sleep worse. Bad connectivity, brainwaves woke me up, ear pain
TLDR: Made my sleep worse because: Bluetooth disconnects easily and I'd have to mess with phone. Brainwave audio has pinging sounds that startled me repeatedly when almost asleep. Ear pain when side sleeping. I got far worse sleep using these than I did with my Loop ear plugs. I was using the Brainwave Audio over bluetooth to fall asleep and had the ear buds switch to local after I was asleep and auto switch to bluetooth when I would wake up. (I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and have difficulties falling back to sleep.) This feature worked correctly maybe twice tops. One of the big problems is the bluetooth disconnects easily. You have to have your phone very close and at an optimal angle, or the Soundcore app will disconnect and then you have to open the app, connect, and hit play. I kept losing connection with my phone on low nightstand at a hotel, and at home I would lose connection if I used the bathroom a few yards away (I have wood walls with no insulation). I set one ear bud tap control to play bluetooth. It connected to the Soundcore app and played the Brainwave audio first time I tested it. After that, it would connect to and play my closed radio app instead of the audio from open SoundCore app. The Brainwave audio kept waking me up. At first, I really enjoyed the brainwave audio sounds. I liked how it went from ear to ear and helped me turn my brain off, and it worked well if I was super sleepy and drifted off quickly. BUT every single one of them have an alarm-type pinging type sound that eventually shows up and gets loud and repetitive at points - longer the audio was played, the worse it got. So those nights I was having a hard time going back to sleep at 3am, the brainwaves audio kept startling me awake with "PING, ping, PING, ping" just as I was drifting off to sleep. I'm a sometimes side sleeper with tiny ear canals. The earbuds were ok when I was on my back, but they dug into my ears when on my side. The rubber parts were fine - it's the hard body of the earbuds that was digging into me. The earbuds made me hard for me to get comfortable on my side and be able to fall asleep, and I woke up more than once with my ears tender to the touch where the earbuds dug into my ears. (I HAVE to sleep on my side sometimes due to leg twitches, so it's not just a simple "well don't sleep on your side.") My Loop earplugs don't cause this problem for me, and I rarely notice them when I'm on my side. These would work if you don't get out of bed, don't get startled easily (or don't use their brainwaves), and have different ear anatomy they I do.

Best Option for Noise Blocking Sleep Headphones
I was a little worried by the bad reviews but these are the best sleep headphones on the market right now. I have used sleep headphones for years going back to the Kokoon and most recently the Ozlo. I think the problem with these reviews is that people are complaring these to regular headphones, which you can't do. With sleep headphones, you pay a premium for the size. In order for you to be able to sleep with these inside your head and to make sure they stay there all night, they need to make compromises to keep them as tiny as possible. The Ozlos were my favorite before but they had a few issues. Although they are very comfortable and stay on all night for the most part they didn't do an amazing job keeping all the noise out. Also, the volume on the Ozlos was very low for any music or sleep sounds being played on them. Many times I wanted to turn the volume up and it wouldn't go any higher. The A30 fixes both of those issues. The sound blocking is the top of its class and the volume goes up significantly higher. For all those complaining about the price, the Ozlo are much more expensive and have less features (no ANC). There are some trade offs though. The Ozlos are significantly smaller than these and are more comfortable. Although these are comfortable enough for me and stay on all night, some may have an issue. I value the noise blocking more than absolute comfort. If your room doesn't get very loud and you care more about comfort, you may be better off with Ozlo. I live in NYC though and there is always some idiot outside making noise at night over here. If the loudest sound you deal with is your partner snoring and you need something to take the edge off, these are probably overkill with the ANC. The battery life on both is comparable and they last all night. I'm not usually a fan of touch controls on headphones but these work really well and I don't really get false positives. These are really well made, thoughtfully engineered sleep headphones and as someone who really needs them, I appreciate that people keep working to make these sleep headphones better and better.

Will help with noisy neighbors
Bought these for my wife and I because of our noisy upstairs neighbors. They do a great job of blocking out noise, I was so relieved to finally get a good nights sleep because of these things. They're comfortable enough for sleeping on your side. I end up passing out just fine and I'm a pretty light sleeper. Only complaint I have is that the white noise stops playing after awhile. I play rain sounds to fall asleep and when I wake up it's not playing anymore and my wife says it's playing on hers? I think the apps just glitchy like other people have stated, but these have seriously been a huge relief for us and are worth the price. EDIT: my wifes right earbud randomly stopped working. I managed to get it working again but apparently this is a common issue. I ended up ordering a new pair and returning that pair just incase. I agree with most people in here, for a $200 pair of headphones that type of stuff shouldn't happen.

They really work. Confusing setup, but nice soothing sound
Update: I’ve been using these, as needed, for a few months. I figured out how to download a constant rain sound to the buds directly, so don’t need app or Bluetooth to use them. They have lots of ambient noise sounds, but I like the rain. If there is noise and I can’t sleep, I just slip them on and I get the gentle sound of rain masking all else. In fact, I can’t hear people talking at all. They are amazing. They are also quite comfortable and last way longer than I could ever sleep. In the morning I just pop them back into the charging case. We like cruising and these are great for masking all the background noise day or night. I’m updating to 5 stars. End update. The documentation was pretty sparse. The first night I used them I finally got it to pair. They only worked for half an hour, then turned off. I went through all the settings and couldn’t find a timeout. I tried a vague setting, but the next night… same. They sound good, are comfortable, and the sounds are comfortable, but the short duration almost made me return them. The next day I found out I could scroll the settings screen, and there was a setting for “after falling asleep” that was set to turn off. I guessing for power savings. That did the trick. With ANC on they lasted around 6 hours. Without around 71/2. I’m keeping them because they work in a pinch, but overall they are disappointing. I’m giving them 4 stars because of poor documentation, confusing settings, and short battery power. But, the ANC works well. I can’t hear any outside noise when it’s on.

10/10 Highly recommend
I’ve been using it for a month now, and it’s the best purchase I’ve ever made! I’ve been sleeping so much better, the noise cancellation is absolutely amazing, it’s comfortable to sleep with, the app is super easy and super cool. I also use as normal earbuds to listen to music and specially for audiobooks, when I don’t want to be distracted by the outside noise. Absolutely amazing product!

Somit also bei mir kein Akku Problem. Aber ein positives erster Fazit zeigt sich schon jetzt: ich kann neben einem lauten Schnarcher jetzt deutlich besser schlafen. Der Kauf hat sich also schon jetzt total gelohnt!

Worth the cost with a snoring spouse
By far the best sleep ear buds I’ve owned, they are pretty expensive but I’m extremely happy I bought them. The anc works pretty well, and the white noise is great, plus it chooses the best white noise for you if you use the app. My only negative is they they last between 6.5-7 hours on average with anc on so if you actually get a full nights sleep they will be dead in the morning plus the sleep tracking won’t work passed the point they died. The case gets a solid 3-4 charges out of it before it needs to be charged as well.
