I got the laptop, plugged it in and booted it up and found I had no wifi and it didn't show up in settings. After doing some research I went into BIOS and turned off Secure Boot. It booted up with wifi but the next time a rebooted I got a fatal kernel error and it wouldn't boot up at all. After more research I found that Ubuntu doesn't work well with Asus wifi drivers and one way to fix it is to try a different kernel. I've never done that before so it took a couple of hours in the terminal to get it installed, but it finally began working correctly. If yours works, be thankful because if it doesn't you're in for some work. One other thing I would mention is that they advertise the numeric touchpad. I tried it and couldn't get it to work so I checked the documentation that comes with it and found that it only works when Windows is installed. All in all, though, when it all works it is a nice laptop with good graphics so it was in the end worth it.

Absolutely the worst computer I have ever had since 1996. Randomly and unexpectedly reboots itself in the middle of whatever you're doing no matter what operating system you have installed. "Stringently tested to US military grade durability standards" yet can't take a few minor hits on a sailboat or else it sends you to the grub menu and won't boot up. I contacted the sellers and the manufacturer (who claims they never put Linux on it but here we have a seller who probably took the Windows to sell and installed a free Linux on board) and none of them seem to have any solutions or knowledge of any faults of the hardware. They say "send it in" but I'm on a sailboat in South America and they don't have any other options. Buying this laptop has totally screwed me for my work. I would give it zero stars and toss it in the ocean if I could.

Excellent little laptop. Upgraded to newest Ubuntu LTS with no issues at all. Runs great and fun to use. Even have X-Plane 11 installed as backup to my desktop. Glad I made this purchase.

Computer arrived Fast and in excellent condition, Very pleased. Works Great out of the box. Easy to use, I love Linux! I installed Manjaro Plasma KDE in place of Ubuntu. All went well, this is a gift for a friend, I'm sure she will be very pleased. Battery life is excellent. Thanks for the nice laptop and extra memory - it's appreciated! You can't go wrong purchasing from this seller!

Great unit, with a sharp screen and clean Ubuntu installation. I am definitely NOT a typical Linux user, I always have to google how to install any apps or Firefox extensions I want, but generally everything goes very smoothly. I transitioned from old HP Elitebook I'd set up with an SSD and Ubuntu years ago. Never thought I'd scale down from that heavy, tank-like unit, but this laptop feels solid and dependable.
