I bought this Buddha Board for my granddaughters' birthday. She was very excited and immediately opened it and began using it. It was easy to use. She opened the package and it was ready for her to draw on and easily erasable for her to redraw a new picture over and over again. It is inserted in an included stand for tabletop use and it is not oversized, making it easy to draw similar to an artist's easel. It was nicely packaged and made of good quality materials. I felt the item was priced very good for the value.

This board can help you get into a relaxing zone, pending what habits you enjoy. I personally don't enjoy the sound of my neighbor so I try to relax with things like this. However, I originally purchased the board because I thought it was neat and I could use it to try out brush strokes, etc. The board is sturdy and process simple. You unbox it, fill the little box with some water, set the board up carefully, dip your brush, and get to steppin'. The quirks I noticed are this: - Dipping the brush in full or not swiping some water off by using the edge of the box just gets too much water on the board. It drips down your new art, making it cry. You either have to get very little water on the brush at a time or gently brush the excess water off after a dip using the box before applying to the board. - Using to much water or just a lot? Is it dripping? It all sits at the bottom of the board in a big 'ol line. I was actually afraid I'd somehow ruined my board after a while because it looked like a water stain. Eventually it finally dried (left it out in safe from cat location overnight) and we were all good. - The brush strokes dry quickly... I know they are supposed to fade but I'm talking like, less than one minute quick. Unless I globbed on the water (which presented the drip issue), I didn't get time to use the full board or see the full painting for more than a few seconds before some or all of it faded away. Giftable? I personally wouldn't gift this but not because it isn't a good product. I'd rather gift things more useful. I would not recommend this for kids unless they're responsible teens. The OG Buddha Board is wood and would likely get snapped and injure someone with kiddos. Maybe try the portable plastic one of you really want. Overall, this will work for my intentions mentioned at the beginning. Relaxation and quick practice. I won't use it for much else, unfortunately.

My daughter loves it! No messy paints. Just draw until you're bored and walk away, come back toa fresh screen.

I placed the buddha board in a common area for everyone in the family to enjoy. To my great surprise, everyone had a go at using it and had heaps of fun with it. In fact, we started having discussions on how to write certain Chinese characters, which is a great way for us to connect with our older parents. My husband also commented on the fact that he love that it just dries up and disappears, so he doesn't care as much about making mistakes, allowing him to freely draw whatever. Big thumbs up from everyone!

My partner is challenged by ADHD at times. I purchased a Buddha Board for Christmas and it turned out to be the perfect gift for him. Regular tap water serves as the paint ( I use distilled water due to high mineral content in my home water) and with a little creativity you can produce some beautiful results. Just dip the brush into the water and paint on the Buddha Board. The best part, I love to watch my creations slowly change as the moisture starts to evaporate, changing my creation into something else and then eventually disappearing all together, so you can start over again and again! Great gift idea, beautiful, simple and affordable. The Buddha Board comes in a simple box that can be used for storage when not in use. Kit come with a brush, a small easel, and the reusable canvas.
