Nice purchase. 70Hz Roll off helps us sound better before EQuing
I am very satisfied with the Output. The 70Hz low end Roll off helps vocalists sound better before EQuing as compared to Shure SM 58. I love both the mics but I will go with D5S because of this feature and its supreme build quality. I am also using a windcutter to omit extra pops. I am already using AKG P420 and D5s makes an amazing addition to my gears. Really loving the output.

This is great mic but if you are confuse between this and sm 58 then go for sm58 . Alg has highs but it's kissing the low end . While sm58 sounds more natural and give you more freedom

Check the dealer before buying!
I've had my eyes on this microphone since it used be worth 4k, getting this for around 8k now. The box (the first one and even the replacement one) was not sealed and not even in a good shape. If you really want to buy the AKG d5 for serious use, check the media I have shared. I've personally used d5 a lot in venues and was always a fan of how well built this mic is. I've used about 7 to 8 d5s's and all of them had a clicking response to the switch being turned on or off. This is the replacement unit, the first one was even worse but I didn't want to judge on one time mistake but this looks, feels and even smells used. Have to wait more now. I have returned it now. And yeah at last, as for the sound quality. I compared this with my previous Sennheiser mic which cost me around 3k and the difference was obvious to my ears. AKG sounds "fuller", it has perfect low end, doesn't compromise on highs either, is built great and I feel it's better than sm58 which was a friend's mic and I used for a couple of days. Talking about live performances, this is a no brainier, go for it. It'd sound great and doesn't need the gain to be turned on too high like Sennheiser's. 5 stars for AKG, 0 for the seller.

Quality
Excellent quality, what was disappointing was the wire for connecting to the amplifier was not part of this product. Good sound quality.

Great microphone
Have been using it for years now, it's a great product and built to last. I prefer it over Shure SM58 (personal choice). Picked two of them.
