My 1 year old loved it
I am always in search of good books to introduce to my 13 month old. I've got her flap books and another board book but none of them were really stories. I found this one and took a chance, knowing that the English would be too much for her, but buying it more for the illustrations. I read it to her for the first time today and she had such a blast pointing out the butterfly on each page or the monkey. She also seemed to be really concerned about where the mumma monkey went? Buy it - its definitely a story that warms the heart, and pictures that are a treat for the eyes (young and old!)

I wish it had more pages
My 2 year old loves it but I wish it had more pages. It has just 3-4 pages. The book is over before you start it.

This is a must-have.
Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson was T’s first book by the author. Although I had got it way before she was 2 years, I introduced it only when she turned 2. There were rejections initially, but once the story was translated for her in Hindi (I now read in English) she started enjoying it and asked for it by name multiple times. Little baby monkey has lost his mum. He can’t find her. A butterfly tries to help him with hilarious results and no success. When will the baby unite with his mum? WHAT WE LIKED The mum touch. Big and clear illustrations. Rhyming sentences can be read out in a sing-song way along with the usage of lots of hand animation. A number of animals are introduced in the story along with their specific features. Though a young reader might not understand the difference completely, with repeated readings, they are bound to remember. WHAT WE DISLIKED the length of the story is a little long for young toddlers and one might struggle to keep their interest even though they like the book. This is a must-have. Published by Macmillan Children’s Books (Pan Macmillan) Recommended age 2+ years.

Good buy
Very beautiful and colorful illustrations. Sensible story. My child particularly enjoyed the animal illustrations and points out at each animal when you name it. He is a year old. You get what you pay for. Worth it in terms of quality and content.
