Good durable paper if you want to practice with oils but not waste canvases!! Plays nice with gouache as well.

Linen is super enjoyable to paint on!
If you haven't tried a linen paper to oil paint on this product is a must buy. The highest quality linen paper I have used, it lets the oil paints flow perfectly on the paper. Perfect for blending. Would buy again!

Not good for those who want to prime their canvas with an acrylic wash.
I assumed the paper had a waterproof (to some degree) surface so began painting on a thin wash of acrylic to tone the canvas gray before painting with oils. Little shredded pieces of paper began pilling and rolling up on the surface. It was literally coming apart. For those who want to paint on a toned canvas, just know that you should probably do it with oils ahead of time. Other than this problem, the paper works well for oils and has a nice, subtly textured surface.

Great value
My husband uses these when he wants to paint but doesn’t want to get out a big canvas. He loves these, they are nice and thick, paint doesn’t leak through( he uses oil) we have bought a few books that have advertised for oil painting and the paint soaks right through. Very happy with these, I will definitely purchase again.

A bit toothy with a cross hatch texture but good.
Just trying it out on oil pastels so far. It is a bit toothy and rough, but not impossible to work with. Tortillons will be your friend if you want a smooth blended effect. That said, the paper has a sturdy somewhat slick feel to it. It doesn't feel like it will heavily absorb paint, which is good, because less is needed for coverage. For oil pastels it may take a bit more to fill in the grooves. The picture shows blended and unleaded areas.
