So far, so good!
This unit had the best reviews for the price, with the best features. It came triple boxed, which was good, because the outside box had quite a bit of damage. Unit itself was undamaged. Took a little effort to get it hooked up, due to having to change the type of fittings from our previous unit, but it immediately started making crystal clear ice, and by the next morning was full. Has been running for a month with no issues. Barring some unforeseen failure, it is a good buy for the money!

Product broke 3 weeks in, flooded basement
Don't buy this or any other product from Maxxx Ice. Here's why Bought this product in a rush before the big game (not sure if it'll get taken down because of the name). My Scotsman had been having issues and this was the only one available to get in time. So I got it. First of all. The ice sheets are a pain to break up. I'm not a small or weak person and it takes a bit of force to crack them up. Not ideal for causal use. However, the bigger issue was that the plastic fitting behind the water inlet (pictured) broke. This caused water to spread throughout my basement, under cabinets, under my baseboards, and under my carpet. We're still sorting out the damage. It's not good. Amazon took a little bit of work to get the refund started and the product picked up without charge (refund pending at time of writing), but it really wasn't a bad process as long as the refund comes soon. Customer service at Maxxx Ice was a different story though. I called to ask what they intended to do about my damages. Seems reasonable. They create a defective product that damages my property after only a couple weeks of use and thus should at least make an attempt to compensate us for our troubles. Nope In fact, they're completely aware this is an issue. They stated verbatim "it's happened before" and it's "just a plastic fitting". So instead of fixing the known issue they expect the consumer to file a claim with their homeowners insurance, pay a deductible (which they do seem open to paying that part at least), but then incurring ongoing increases in insurance costs or potentially being dropped (which would be our situation). To me that's unacceptable. Fix the part or fix the damages. That's what a company with good ethics would do. Plus it makes me wonder. If they skimped on this part that they know is an issue what else did they skimp on? What else could flood your home or create other hazardous situations? So save yourself hassle, don't buy from this company for this product or others.

Wonderful ice maker, if you don't have hard water.
This is a great ice machine. Simple, operates well, produces good ice. I am giving it three instead of four stars for one reason: The water tray is molded to the unit and cannot be removed to be cleaned. If you have even slightly hard water, this tray will silt up with minerals and you will drive yourself batty figuring out how to clean it. HOWEVER, I will say, other than this, it's a fantastic product and the quality of the rest of it makes this missing feature (removable tray and ice making parts) stand out more than it should! If they ever make the same model that lets you detach these parts so you can clean them, I'll give it five stars. If you don't have hard water, it's a great machine. If you have hard water, make sure you have either a contortionist or a very small person in your family to clean the ice machine.

Good Value for the Money - Has Its Hiccups
I am replacing our old one with the exact model number. This one comes with a plastic ice scoop instead of the metal one the old one came with. The old one had trouble with making one solid block of ice, something to do with the coils during the ice drop cycle. I am experiencing the same issue with this one intermittently, but it's not too bad of a problem. It seems that you need to keep the rear of the machine well ventilated which is a problem for this one, being meant to be installed underneath the counter and between the cabinets. That said, the old one lasted for almost 6 years; I think I worked that out to a little over $14/month for the convenience which is better than the roughly $50 a week we were spending. I had issues with shipping and didn't get this for a month after the delivery date. The shipper used a third-party shipping service.

a good produce
Well, it was a challenge. We had to have three of these delivered because each one was damaged during shipping. We had heard good things about this ice maker and really wanted it. They were responsive and very good at communicating with me. I hope they start to ship their ice machines like they did the third time. It was perfect. The only thing that I wish was different, is minor, but I was hoping the ice cubes would be the pretty, clear ice cubes. these aren't, but that's ok. the ice machine is working very well, and we love it!

Loving this as good as our old Scotsman……
I bought this to replace our old Scotsman icemaker that bit the dust after 11 years. The Scotsman we had before that lasted about the same amount of time after a repair to keep it going. A new Scotsman was going to cost nearly $3k! This Max Ice Maker was a third of the price, so I figured I could replace it 3 times over the next 10 years and be no worse off in cost. I’m really happy with the Max. It looks nice in our bar area and it matches the stainless on the sink and mini-fridge. The ice it makes is a lot like the shape of store-bought bagged ice. This thing is the boss when it comes to cranking out ice. It had the bin filled in a matter of hours and it keeps up with ice making very efficiently. The ice comes out in large square blocks, but when you grab the scoop to get some ice, the ice breaks into small squares almost at the touch. Ive had this ice maker in operation for about 3 months now and I couldn’t be more pleased.

Dosent work
We ordered this Ice maker and installed it. It makes three loads of ice then stops and sounds like it is sucking air instead of water running to make the ice. We have unplugged and started 2 times. We have only had a week and Amazon now says we cannot return it. Total waste of $1000. Do not buy.

Works Well
Purchased this is a replacement for my motel. The old Maxx Ice lasted a fair number of years. The only difference between the new and old is the new has a slightly larger daily ice production, as well as an internal pump for the drain. Just remember these machines do not break the sheets of ice up...they reject in a rectangular block and then these sheets must be broken up manually....not a deal-breaker, but something to keep in mind.
