step up from economy models but noticeably better
Relevant background: I have been cutting my own hair for the last 14 years. During that time I more or less settled on Wahl brand clippers. The problem is that the Walh clippers dulled relatively quickly, got clogged with hair easily and took many passes to get it right because of the inferior attachments and the attachments popping off. But for the price of 20-30 some bucks to replace every year or so, it was ok. However I've found the newer models of wahl clippers have used cheaper and flimsier attachments. The attachments got so cheap that if you pushed too hard on your head, the attachment would distort. Well that's exactly what happened. I mean can you at least not scrimp so bad that it defeats the purpose of the product? None the less, I tracked down a set of older and better made attachments and went to business as usual. To do a perfect job took me about 30 minutes to cut my hair because you have to make many passes from where the attachments push the hair down and where in general the clippers don't get unless you brush the clogged hair out for every 6 or so inches of hair cutting. If you've done this as much as I have, you know what I mean. I had enough, I flushed enough money down the toilet on Wahl. One day I got pissed and decided to invest a few extra bucks in my next set. I researched the models out there and this one came very highly recommended in the intermediate price range. I purchased it and have used it three times since I got it. It works great, it flys through the hair no problem and it does not clog with the cut hair. I can cut my hair in about 5 minutes instead of 30. The attachments are thin without being flimsy, so you don't have to go over the same place over and over. The attachments also slide on from the top/front end of the blade and lock into place so, no matter how hard you push on your head, the attachments will never pop off. I wish I got one of these years ago. The construction is way more solid that the walh brand. It is heavier and obviously has a better motor. The blades go through everything without a problem. This is a great clipper for someone like me who only uses it about once a month. People seemed to complaint about the noise- if you are that sensitive to sound then you have issues. You are literally pressing a buzzing motor against your head...you want it to not be loud? It does get hot like people say, so I would not recommend using it without attachments for more than 15 minutes without a break. I would not use it cut my dogs hair without letting it cool completely which may take awhile. My advice....get it

Great for home use
I thought I would write a review after using this clipper to fade both mine and my sons hair for the past 7 years. This is a well made product that has held up to 3-4 haircuts per month for the past 7 years. I have not oiled it consistently and I probably should, but i have never had a problem over the years. I would estimate that I oil probably once every 3-4 months, and never had an issue. This is fairly quiet, makes a low drone sound compare do to a louder buzz that you will notice with cheaper clippers. I ended up buying additional guides from oster that are better constructed and have been using those over the plastic ones that came with the clipper. I like how the adjustable length lever is smooth all the way without click settings. I can easily slide it to adjust as necessary. It cuts close to skin, and I have never had a problem at all with any nicks or cuts on both mine and my sons hair. If I could offer any kind of improvement that could be made, it would be to change the adjustable lever to a different material other than plastic. I had an issue with mine where the screw that holds the plastic lever got loose. Over tightening the screw would lock the lever in place, and under tightening lets the blade adjust itself while cutting. There's a real small sweet spot that I found where if you tighten the screw enough it keeps the blade from moving while cutting while at the same time allowing you to adjust. If the lever were something other than plastic, or a different type of design, i think this would resolve the issue completely. The screw getting loose has happened 2-3 times over 7 years of use, so not that big of a deal for me and doesn't change my rating,

owning one is a MUST
Hello if ya'll don't know these Fast Feeds are amazing. They cut at a 000-1A ... I used them 2 weeks ago on myself and wow, they cut evenly and left me so crispy. (a good thing) My fade was legit. I did a bald fade. yup. fresh Amazon was fast and very professional. When I cut my hair the clippers didn't get hot AT ALL. When I cut my cousin's hair I noticed a lil more about the heat. These clippers don't start heating up until about 25+ minutes or so and even then they only get warm. Not too hot. Pros: Light in hand, arm doesn't get tired as fast. They are quiet and powerful. They can cut through both wet and dry hair. I thought I needed two of them but I cancelled one seeing as to how much of a quality clipper this is. MADE IN THE USA BABY! The only cons I have about these bad boys They don't come with a full set of attachments but you can always get those purple Andis magnetic guards.. Conclusion: I love these clippers. They are of high quality. ***Update 12/27/2015 - I have been using these on myself and on my friends to develop my skills. Some 400-500 hair cuts later, they still work great. I use these for precision blending, fading out to higher levels of cutting. Great tool. Only needed one after all. I have been using them for years and they only heat up if you don't lube em up right. I use Andis Cool Care spray while they're on to let the oil work itself in. I use em for like 30-45 minutes sometimes and then they start to warm up. If you're looking for a clipper to take out the bulk in a salon setting, use a different one. These can do it but I associate them with blending. I went a little crazy and bought two of these, two of the Limited Edition Chrome ones, and I just bought the Oster Topaz Fast Feeds... Next is going to be the black Oster Speed Line and blue Fast Feeds.

Dependable, well-made clippers
I've been shaving my own hair since the 7th grade and I'm about to turn 33. I would say I'm qualified at this point to review a hair clipper. This is about the 10th clipper I've owned over the years and the first semi-nice pair of clippers I've ever had. Pros: + Nicely made. Good weight, nice feel in your hands. Not too heavy, not light. + For the 2 past two years it's been very dependable. It just runs and cuts my hair perfectly every time. + It comes with 4 combs. 1/2", 1/4", 3/8", and Blending. + The distance between the cutting blades and the metal comb attached to the clipper is adjustable with a lever. + By taking the comb off, I'm able to get a pretty decent shave with the clipper on my face and neck. It's decent for leaving stubble, not a close shave. + It never pulls my hair, regardless of how fast I cut it. Cons: - My clipper has always been pretty quiet but as soon as I put a comb on it buzzes really loud. - It's not the most powerful clipper on the market. I usually have to go over the same spot on my head 2-3 times before I get all of the loose hairs. I oil the blade every time I use my clippers and so far they've been extremely dependable and still cut very well. I can't tell any difference today from when I purchased them two years ago. I expect that these clippers will last for years and I will continue to enjoy them. One day I may upgrade to a more expensive pair, but for now these are the perfect price/performance balance for me. I would give 4.5 stars if that were an option. Highly recommended.

Quality product
This will go through your hair like a hot knife through butter. It's very quiet, yet powerful. Blades are sharp, but not so close/sharp that you need worry about cutting yourself. It comes with a few attachments if you prefer a less than military appearance. The clippers have an adjustable gate on the blades for a slightly less than shaved look. Long cord is nice, also. Comes with oil and cleaning brush. Easy to maintain. Updated: I have also started using this to shave my face when I don't shave for a few weeks. It works so much better than my Norelco trimmer on longer facial hair. I still need to use the Norelco to get it down to stubble, but it only takes about 60 seconds to do so. If you're a bit of hairy guy (guilty), it can clear your chest hair off in a minute, as well. Some of the negative comments on here are atypical, I believe. I will say, this product won't take your hair to the scalp. I can't tell you how close it cuts, but I would imagine it's in the 1/16th to 1/32nd range. If you have a beard trimmer you can finish with that or even a razor would have no trouble at all after the Oster was finished. I don't know if one clipper can be all things to all people, but this is a great all purpose clipper. It won't make you bald, but it will indiscernibly close. It's quiet...for a clipper. It makes less noise than my Norelco trimmer. If you are shaving your head multiple times a week, you don't need these clippers. Any trimmer will do for that frequency. I have only had the Oster for six or so months and it has already paid for itself. Read the comments before your decide which clipper is right for your needs. This product gets 4-5 stars about 88% of the time. The negative reviews are typically from people that didn't do proper research on the inherent limitations of the product or just happened to have received a faulty item (it happens to every type of product and Amazon will take care of you if it does).

OSTER Fast Feed Adjustable Pivot Motor Clipper 76023-510
Going bald was probably the best thing that has happened to me. I don't have to shell out any more money getting my haircut at a barber nor do I have to worry about what my hair looks like every morning. When I first started buzzing my head, I purchased a cheaper brand of clipper (Wahl) from CVS or Target. It worked well for a period of time but it would sometimes pull my hair. The motor never seemed large enough and after a while, a couple of the blades broke off. However, the Wahl was made in USA, which is important to me, but it eventually came time for me to see what other options were out there. I tend to do extensive research before I buy something. My wife (sometimes) hates it but I would rather spend a little more money on a quality product if it's going to last longer. After looking around, I narrowed it down to the Oster Classic 76, Oster Model 10 and this one. All I need to do is buzz my head once a week, or every two weeks, so I knocked out the 76 & 10 because they were nearly twice the price of the Fast Feed. From the first time I used it, I noticed a huge difference over the Wahl. The blades cut fast and smooth and they didn't pull my hair at all. To be honest, I was floored and wondered why I didn't make a transition sooner. I don't use any of the included attachments (1/4", 3/8", 1/2") but they all seem well made (at least compared to the Wahl ones). Just for review purposes, I clipped each one on and turned on the clipper for a minute to see if they came loose and/or stayed attached. Needless to say, I didn't have a problem with any one of them. When I was using my Wahl clipper, the attachment would come loose after a few months (I used an attachment with the Wahl, NOT with the new Oster). The blade adjusts very smoothly and no matter how short I go, it's as comfortable as anything. The motor does heat up a little bit but it doesn't get unbearable. This is easily one of the best purchases I've made for myself! As I stated earlier, I wish I did it sooner. If you're using a Wahl, or cheaper clipper, pay the extra $20 and get this!

GOATs
I was looking though my old Amazon buys and I had to give this item some love. It's been over 5 years & I have had zero issues with these clippers & I hardly clean and oil them. Easily the best clippers I have ever owned and I would HIGHLY recommend them!

Punto a mejorar. A mi me gustó mucho la máquina.

Excellent Cutting Blade
Used for the first time today with much anticipation. I was impressed. Doesn't quite cut right down to the scalp on 0 setting as well as my Wahl's, however it is very very minimal difference, but the way they cut is so much better. Feel like it is made really well. Cutting blade didn't snag, pull or struggle once and that was even with cutting 3 weeks hair growth. Glad I paid the extra for these as they cut really well.

Don't be fooled by the sound it makes!
***My review down below was when we first purchased the clipper. Its been ten months since we had it now and it is fantastic!*** We are a family of seven, with four males. We use clippers quite often in our household. As you can imagine, any set of clippers would get a very good work out in our house. We have used Conair brands for a longtime. They function ok for the price. However when our six year old Conair (which is heavy - made it feel like a quality product, powerful and noisy) was giving us problems we bought another brand by Emerson. All I will say you get what you pay for! So we looked for another Conair and could not find one that had the same quality. I googled best clippers and came across this Oster 76023. The reviews of it were glowing. I also remember that many barbers I went to, when I was younger used Oster brand. I figured it must be quality. So through Amazon.ca I ordered one. When we received it I opened up the box to get a feel of it. It felt "heavy" not cheap and plasticky. And by heavy I also mean quality. It felt natural in my hands. When I plugged it in and started it up I was expecting it be loud. However, this unit is extremely quiet when compared to other clippers. In my mind I thought it was another cheap one. Boy was I wrong. I immediately began to cut my 17 year olds hair. Now his hair was about an 1 1/2" long. This clipper had no problem cutting it, even though the longest comb that comes with it is 1/2". I then cut my 13 year olds hair which was a lot shorter and no issue. No pulling the hair either. I then cut mine. It cut it very well. I am totally impressed by this clipper. Three back to back hair cuts and no issues. I highly recommend this clipper. The only downfall is that it does not come with longer combs than 1/2", but that is how Oster sells it. An added bonus which won me over even more, is that this clipper says "MADE IN THE USA". To me "Made in USA or Made in Canada" means quality.

Worth that Little bit extra.
Expensive but worth it. After years of using well known domestic clippers I have at last found quality in Oster. Cut better, quicker, and cleaner.

Great hair trimmer
I bought this to replace a Wahl hair trimmer I got at a big box store that I was using since the pandemic. First impressions: a new unit that arrived in a sealed box that had been taped shut. It came with 4 comb attachments but really wished they would have included a number 0. Had to purchase that separately as an add-on kit. Compared to my old Wahl trimmer the Oster is much quieter and seemed to cut better. It did get a bit warm but the blade itself never felt hot to touch against the scalp. The biggest difference had to be when using it without any of the blade attachments for getting a clean trim around the base of the neck. It felt smooth unlike my old trimmer that was rough and had a scrapping sensation that left my neck red. Looking forward to many more years of use from this new trimmer.
