INTEY Cargo Bag Rooftop Cargo Carrier Waterproof Car Roof Storage 20 Cubic Feet for Car, Van and SUV

Bought this for a move. Wanted to bring my sleep number bed and some folding chairs to the new place while waiting several days for the moving truck, avoiding a hotel and/or a U-Haul trailer. "Waterproof" is what sold me. Loaded my bed (foam and memory foam rolled up) and the chairs. Here's a tip, don't load in the sunshine, do it in the shade. The material is rubber-ish and becomes very hot and burns your hands when you're when trying to zip the zipper. Got it closed, placed the second bag (very flimsy thing with elastic around it like a bottom sheet) over the first (what they describe as a "second waterproof barrier"). Tied everything down and drove 1,300 miles. 3 hours into the trip, the second bag was ripped to shreds by the wind. Ended up tossing it in the garbage, as the flapping was driving us crazy. The main bag was supposed to be waterproof anyway, so okay. Kept driving. Got to the new place, everything inside was wet. Not soaked, but visibly wet. We had to buy a hair dryer and dry the foam before we cold go to sleep. Very frustrating. Threw the thing away. On the plus side, the straps worked well. It stayed in place the whole trip, no movement on the top of the car at all. Also bought the padding to go under and that performed okay (the wind slid some of it back, but nothing terrible). No marks on the car.I may have expected too much, but I viewed several of these and read many reviews before choosing this one. Again, "Waterproof" was the point. Have you ever tried to dry out memory foam? Not fun, or quick. If it hadn't leaked, I'd give it 5 stars.

I purchased your 20cf/3000lb capacity, "durable" luggage roof bag.We were making a round-trip visit to Northern California from San Diego. 500mi each way. I traveled with 3 kids & 2 dogs in my Honda Pilot SUV, with your luggage bag on top. For the trip north, I stashed all 5 of our suitcases; 2 large suitcases & 3med suitcases, into the roof bag. Returning home 2 weeks later, did the same. 1 1/2hrs into our return trip, one of my daughters sees suitcases flying from the top of our car, out into 2 lanes of busy, dangerous state hwy 5 behind us, just North of Coalinga. I pulled over to the side within 100yds. By this time already a dozen cars & several semi trucks had run over the luggage. 2 weeks of clothing for 4 ppl were being dragged, torn, ran over. BY THE GRACE OF GOD, there were no accidents. There was no safe way to retrieve anything in the lanes of traffic or across the 2 lanes on the other side, where the average traveling speed is 70-90mph.The attached pictures show that the rear seams of the bag completely ripped open. The zipper, handles & tie downs were still intact. I had the long straps running inside the door frames, thru the car. But because your defective bag busted it's seam, we are now out 5 suitcases & hundreds of dollars in clothes for me & my 3 children!I have sent an email to the manufacturer requesting a product refund & reimbursement for our personal items.

I found it to be waterproof, but the extra rain cover that came with it was pointless and shredded before the first 100 miles. So far other than the collection of bugs made it from Colorado to Arizona and then the southern route all the way to the tip of florida. worked great, has a good bag for storage, gave a lot of space.

We recently traveled over 1,000 miles with this luggage carrier and it was fantastic! We filled this to the brim as we moved from Chicago to Florida and we were able to fit all of our items in it. The straps and carrier itself are very durable. We were able to travel at 75 mph down the highway with no issues and we didn’t even have a luggage rack. We were able to string the straps through the doors of our vehicle, tighten it down, and go. I would recommend this item to anyone who needs some extra room for travel!

Be sure that the zipper is secured.The carrier unzipped and I lost my bag on the Mass Turnpike.FYI you can not go back to get your belongings, the Trooper will write you a ticket for unsecured debris and it is impossible to contact a crew that might have picked it up.

WHAT a piece of crap. Within first 100 miles the left rear corner seam ripped out. After 200 miles bare spots in the rubberized cover began to appear. I wouldn't buy this again to go across town. And since I'M traveling there is no sending it back. I learned the hard hope you don't.

Package came as expected. It worked well for our needs and protected our belongings as described, including the need for waterproof. Drove 18 hours one way and 14 hours back and it did it’s job. We did have some wind flap noise, but that was not the fault of the product as much as it was my lack of understanding the best way to pack it. Which leads to the only reason I did not rate it a 5: the instructions were not very clear and did not elaborate whatsoever.
