102W 15V 6.33A Power Adapter Charger Compatible with Surface Book 2 1, Surface Laptop 3 2 1, Surface Pro X Pro 7 Pro 6 Pro 5 Pro 4 Pro 3 and Surface Go with Additional USB Port and 6ft Power Cord

This charger not only has the feel and appearance of the charger included in the box of the Surface Book 2 (and all other devices that use a Surface Connector). The reason its better is because its 102W 15V 6.33A. The stock charger, for a comparison, is much more limited at 42W 12A (I forgot the A). I included a picture that shows that this charger also has a usb slot to charge another device. I also included a picture of it next to the stock charger and you can see its larger. It does not feel heavier yet it does feel a bit more hollow, but I dont see it as an issue at all. I will conduct further testing and report if anything interesting arrises. The Surface Book 2 has an issue where it loses charge faster than it can get it when you use the dedicated GPU (while gaming or video editing for example) and will eventually die on you. Question is, will this charger be the solution? I am not so sure but its for sure what Ill be testing. Update: This is the only charger I use. My stock charger sits in the closet. It charges faster and allows me to play games and run Premiere Pro (editing program) without the laptop dying on me. I beleive this charger has changed my life and urge all my Surface Book 2 buddies to get it if you do anything that uses the dedicated graphics. My cat chew thru my original chargers and I was very disappointed and wanted to buy the exact same one. So I checked Microsoft store and they sell it for double the price and charge shipping and was going to take ages so I decided to buy this one for half the price, free and fast shipping, and can barely tell the difference between this and original charger. It charges my laptop, looks and work exactly the same as original charger , and a bit lighter. Would recommend to anyone that need a spare or replacement charger for Microsoft Surfacebook 2

I purchased my Surface Book Performance Base refurbished, as a consequence (unbeknownst to me) it shipped with a replacement OEM charger for the original surface book, which didn't require nearly as much power. I realized something was up when my computer would decide to quit reading my power supply when the GPU was taxed. Eager to fix this problem, I went to purchase the proper charger for it. Two problems: it was rare, and it was $100. Cheaper 3rd party adapters existed, but they typically had a mix of 1 to 3 star reviews warning that the product probably (or definitely) will damage your computer's battery/motherboard. Anyway, this product didn't have any of those negative reviews, and it was much cheaper than the OEM part, so I took the jump. It was a good jump; my Surface Book (Performance Base) charges twice as fast now and my GPU can run freely without prematurely aging my crappy non-removable battery. Good times for all, do recommend.

UPDATE: The USB connector is not perfect. The correct orientation of the connector is the opposite of what it looks like. (The center plate is shifted a bit and resists insertion more than one would expect.) Once I flipped the connector over and persisted wiggling it in, it worked fine. ------ I bought this a few months ago. It's bigger than other models, but it apparently is 102w rather than 44w. It does seem to charge my devices, but... I just noticed that the USB connector on it does not work. Something is preventing me from fully pushing in my USB cable. I should have tested this earlier. As a result, it provides no USB charging capability at all.

Careful, this cord is dangerous. It overheated, and basically melted and warped at the charging head / port. so burned up at charge port...Still hoping it didn't damage my surface pro 7. Waste of money and dangerous! Hope I didn't ruin my surface pro 7. Would love to hear from seller!

I hate crawling under the desk to pack up my charger when I need to take my computer with me. I bought this product solely fore the purpose of avoiding that task. I have already plugged in the new charger and there were no issues with charging. It works the same as the factory charger, including the magnetic tip. What was a pleasant surprise is the much longer cords. As this is for travel, it will be nice to have some extra cord in case an outlet is not close. It comes with a travel bag. I likely will not use because I will just put this in the sleeve I purchased for my surface, but it's a nice enough travel bag I will likely end up using it for something else.

After going through two of this particular chargers, I would have to say I’m very disappointed in the durability of the units. First unit’s charging box overheated and stop working which normal after continuous use over time, but with unit I only had it 13 days. Being hopeful it was an isolated incident I had my assistant reorder the same unit which in retrospect was a horrible decision. The second until’s cord early on started to fray at the connection point and ultimately started to intermittently charge. Not wanting to damage my computer I stop using the charger. Fast forward 6 months I forget my good charger and only have this one. After 30 min of holding the cord just perfect to charge the cord becomes completely detached. Lesson. Not every deal is a good one. I’ve mandated that none of my employees use this cord in fear of burning the office down. Plus a return window of 30 days makes it impossible to service any potential issues later. Anything will work for 30 day.

So I received this product in a timely manner. It in durable, bigger than name brand Microsoft charger, and the cord for it is longer than I expected. I used it to charge my surface pro 3 tablet and charge my iPhone 6s and it charged without an issue. I have purchased multiple named brand Microsoft chargers in the past and I without a doubt am super impressed by the quality of this product. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a longer charger for their surface.

Note: I paid for this directly and received no discounts or promotions in return. I own a 13” Surface Book 2 w/ performance base that I use for both work and play. I was annoyed at constantly having to get down on my hands and knees under my desk to plug my Surface Book 2 in after a day at work, so I looked around for a new charger. The original from Microsoft is ridiculously expensive for what it is so I looked off-brand and found this guy. This charger works just like the original for half the price and delivers the full 102w. No issues with buzzing or wonky charging patterns like other off brands and when plugged into a wall outlet it functions exactly the same as the original. My partner also started using it for her Surface Pro (2018) and says it charges it much faster than the smaller one included with her laptop which is consistent with it’s rated power delivery. There are only two differences from the Microsoft charger, neither of which are worth removing a star. One is that it’s a touch heavier than the original, not a big deal. The other is that it’s less efficient than the original from Microsoft. I only noticed this because I have a portable AC battery that I use to charge my SB2 when I’m away from outlets and I don’t get as much of a recharge when I use this one by about 10%. Again, not a big deal given it’s fully half the price and it is a pretty niche use case.

I was in need of a second power adaptor for my i7 SB w/performance base and was a bit skeptical about buying a third-party power adapter, but based on the official Microsoft version costing twice the price, I decided to go ahead. This power adapter appears to be exactly the same as the original in size and power. Works great so far and I'm very happy with my purchase. *For all the purchasers who are saying this is much bigger than the original: The one I received is the same size and weight as the original 102W power adapter I got with my Surface Book. If your original power adapter is the smaller 44W version that came with the lower powered i5 Surface Book, then this one will be bigger because it has twice as much power.

Needed the extra power to run 2 drives simultaneously. The current power adapter can only run one drive out of the single USB3 port. The expansion hub from Microsoft is also underpowered, allow only 1 HDD and multiple thumb drives, but will fail on transfers from cellphones attached during backup. Adding this adapter with the USB port for power to the external USB hub, allows 2 HDD or one drive and a cell plus usb drives on a third hub. I can now max out with 2 self powered ext USB, 2 USB powered HDD and 2 SDD externals. I need to unplug one USB HDD if I attach a cell for backup. Only caviet is that it is heavier and larger for my carry on bag, but worth it. Original Surface Pro Unit should have shippped with it. Adapter is from the new Surfacebooks that need larger current.

For the price this charger is a good value. Some say it's identical quality to the original, it is not. The cable itself is not as rubbery feeling, more plastic feeling. The light on the end glows through part of the black it shouldn't. When I first plugged it in the light flickered on and off about 15 times and I thought oh no, it's broken out of the box. But it stopped flickering and is working no problem no. We'll see how long it lasts. The original charger lasted 4 years and I travelling on many many flights with it, I can't complain about the OEM charger as it travelled with me around the world in my laptop bag and held up very well. I'll report back down the road once I see how well this charger holds up long-term.

Product worked for 2 days and then stopped charging my Surface Laptop. The light would still come on, but the computer wouldn't register any charge. I bought this to keep at my office as a secondary charger. Brought my laptop home and plugged it into the real Microsoft charger and it worked instantly.
