what's the move range of the watch back remover tool

Please know the move range is 0.47-2.24 inch.

Will it work to open the back on a rectangular watch? I can't find a groove to pry the back open.

I used this tool to close the back on a rectangular Baume & Mercier. That watch had a small lip on the back, on one of the narrow sides where the bracelet attaches, which gave a place to pry with an opening tool.

In the pictures there are 2 dies with no measurements, one small round ond and one "butterfly" shaped one. What are those 2 for?

I use them as of yet,they are mainly used as the others for support,I have used this set to replace watch batteries, and adjust bracelets on a watch and remove watch bracelet links,I can only imagine they are used as the other dies,but I must say,I learned this,quietly on my own!!!verses the cost of getting all the formention done!!!almost a great set I have changed batteries and the such for 30 or so watches,truly I recommend this set to anyone!!!enjoy!!
